Try to keep good manners - someday they will come back into fashion

Unknown author

A few years ago, discussing on the site about road rudeness, we recalled the real situation - one of the readers told about it. Having arrived at the gas station and making sure that the car in front of him suspiciously for a long time does not free up “a place in the sun”, although the refueling agent took the gun out of his neck a long time ago, he went on the wanted list: they say what happened? And I saw a blessed picture: the owner of the car "stuck" on the column calmly sat at the table, absorbing all sorts of goodies purchased in a local buffet. On the proposal to overtake the car from the column to the parking lot, he was offended: they say you do not give me a quiet meal!

5 main differences between a good gas station and a bad one. Then everything worked out, as they say, without massacre. And I remembered this case, that's why. In early December, my colleague and I raided the gas station, visiting two dozen different gas stations in one sitting. So, at absolutely all branded gas stations, cashiers-operators, receiving payment for the purchased fuel, invariably offered us tea, coffee and something else, without a word of stutter about the need to remove the car from the column.

At one of the gas stations, I could not stand it and asked the pretty cashier why it actually provokes me to forget about the car and quietly flop over the table. The girl instantly issued the following:

- Oh, we just had such a case last week! One client drove up at two in the morning, and sat here for an hour and a half without cleaning the car! It’s good that there was no one else at night …

It is clear that cashiers didn’t decide to offer tea and coffee - this is called the “Client Communication Program”, obligatory for employees. Supermarket sellers behave similarly, offering you a bag and thanking you for visiting the place. From network gas stations, as far as I remember, BP was one of the first to think of this.

I will say this: such a “communication program” definitely does not suit me: I am convinced that it needs rewriting. It’s good when there is a small shop, a warm toilet and a cafe at the gas station, but all this should in no way create a line in the street. And an employee of an advanced gas station should offer me the first thing to rearrange the car to the parking lot, and only then organize tea parties and other long-term shopping.

5 main wiring at the gas station: do not fall for the hook! Unfortunately, many modern visitors do not see any problems in the fact that because of them there is a queue. Having literally burst into a feeding trough, and even encouraged by gas station employees, they sincerely believe that they were either in a restaurant or in a supermarket, where they have the right to hang around for an arbitrarily long time. The same thing, in general, happens in many fast "public catering", where a nimble layman first of all throws a hat or bag on an empty table, and only then walks to the counter. And the people with trays in their hands, honestly standing in line, while lonely sticking out among the empty, but "busy" tables. Yes, and at car washes every now and then you see how the owner of a freshly washed car, still in the box, quietly fills the washer, induces a noise in the trunk, checks the tire pressure, etc.

For the sake of interest, I asked the former Zarulevets and the current citizen of "Overseas" how to drink coffee at gas stations in countries of "victorious democracy"? He confidently replied that during his 9 years of stagnation, he had never seen a driver sit at tables, while his car was sticking out at the column. However, he explained that basically people grab cups with buns in order to immediately jump back into the cabin and steer further, while working on the jaws. And for those who want a quiet meal, there are always huge parking lots outside the city.
