Gravel most of all “shells” the front bumper and hood. Therefore, it is these elements that need to be protected in the first place. The solution that immediately comes to mind is a variety of protective films. But they are horns. They require skill and clean room. You can turn to professionals, but they also need to pay.
A variety of "fly swatter", that is, visors on the edge of the hood, not only belong to non-standard equipment, they are also able to spoil the paint more than chips - because sand accumulates under them, acting as an abrasive. The aesthetics of such “jewelry” is also doubtful.
It is better to use modern tools. For example, "Liquid Case" from the company "Astrohim." It is intended for temporary protection of the body, as well as other elements of the car from chips and scratches. It can be useful when driving, on long trips, when driving on impassable roads, gravel roads, for preserving the elements of a car. A can of 500 ml costs about 500 rubles.
We tested the new product on the editorial Lada Vesta. It is already full of small “scars”. But we do not want to see new ones.
To apply the “Liquid Cover”, you need to thoroughly wash and dry the car, stock up with a degreaser, a clean cloth, a new soft brush (at least 50 mm wide). Cans are enough for an area of up to one and a half square meters when applied in three layers. Layers need to be dried for 20 minutes.
You can work outdoors, but only in calm weather, at temperatures from + 15 ° C to + 25 ° C, and not in direct sunlight.
It is necessary to degrease the body, trying to remove all impurities. The composition is viscous, it must be applied quickly, gaining less. To make the coating look neater, it is better to alternate the direction of the layers: “paint” the hood along, then across and again along. If the composition gets on the headlights or grille, it’s not scary: the drips are easy to remove when the “Liquid Cover” hardens.
If you separate the treated area from the untreated masking tape, accept it as a conditional border, apply the composition to the adhesive tape, and not on it. Otherwise, when you remove the tape, the edge of the film rises.
