Auto on credit: popular programs from Ford, Hyundai, Renault, Peugeot

Good day. Hope you like my question. I live with my family (wife and two children 4 and 6 years old) in Tuapse. There is a family car Skoda Octavia A7 2013 onwards with a 1.4 engine and a robotic gearbox. It was bought in picking Elegans in a car loan in September 2013 for 5 years for almost 1 million rubles. I recently bought an apartment on credit. Credit funds took about 1.5 million rubles. There is an idea to sell your car and thereby pay off part of the mortgage, while you need to buy a car for our family - as cheap as possible, just to have something to move around. Preferably with an automatic transmission, parking sensors. Of the required equipment - air conditioning (we have a very hot summer). And two child seats need to be put somewhere. I plan to take a new car for 3-5 years for the subsequent sale, so that I can fully repay the mortgage. These are thoughts, but maybe you have another suggestion that can be considered as an alternative. If not, what car would you recommend? Thank. (Alexey)

Ilya Pimenov:

- If you are considering only new cars and you are not embarrassed by another loan, I would suggest the option Hyundai Solaris in picking Active Plus (1.4 automatic transmission). The cost of the car at the moment is 769, 900 rubles.

Under the Start program, with a loan term of 36 months and a down payment of 20%, you will have to pay 14, 388 rubles a month.

And since there are two minor children in your family, the Family Car program applies to you regarding the Hyundai Solaris and Creta models: the client needs to make the lowest possible down payment (in this case - 20%), and the state will add another 10% of the cost a car. Thus, the monthly installment will be reduced to 11 097 rubles.

Hyundai told all the details about the fourth-generation Santa Fe Good afternoon. I have a Hyundai Santa Fe 2011 onwards (automatic, 2.4, 174 hp, gasoline), I have been operating this car for almost 7 years. From December 2017 to this day, Hyundai has been holding a promotion for the sale of Santa Fe of the third generation, with interesting discounts. So, the new Santa Fe (3rd generation) 2017 onwards, in the Comfort configuration (diesel, 2.2, 199 hp, automatic) at a base price of 2, 200, 000 rubles. sold at a discount of 420 thousand rubles. It is likely that in the end the discount will be 520 thousand rubles. Thus, you can buy a new car for about 1, 700, 000 rubles. The price tag is seductive, of course, at current prices! But the new Santa Fe (4th generation) is about to arrive. Should I take a car of the outgoing generation? What are the pros and cons when purchasing such a car? Or maybe you will suggest another option altogether? Thank.

Best regards, Sergei

Ilya Pimenov:

- I will not discourage you from buying a Hyundai Santa Fe. The most thankless task is to embarrass the person who has already chosen the item of purchase with other options. Especially when it comes to such a serious subject as a car.

As for the acquisition of the previous generation car on the eve of the new market entry, the obvious advantages are as follows. Firstly, the dealer can get a rather big discount (the size is discussed individually) and some other bonuses (privileged service, accessories as a gift, etc.). It is clear that the seller is interested in the quick release from the "stale" goods. So you can get a discount of 20-25%.

Plus, you will surely have a decent choice of unsold cars: you won’t have to wait for the completion of your order.

Which cars lose less in price? Good afternoon

I want to buy a Ravon Nexia 2018 car. I drive mainly from work to work (25 km), once or twice a month to the city (500 km per day). How is Ravon's reliability? And, most importantly, the cost of ownership: fuel costs, maintenance, cheaper, insurance, rubber, etc.?

Best regards, Sergei

Ilya Pimenov:

- It is no secret that the modern Ravon Nexia - converted Chevrolet Aveo T250 model 2006 - a proven vehicle. I advise you to study numerous materials about the experience of operating Aveo in order to gain an idea of its reliability. In principle, the car has established itself well.

As for the cheapening, right after the purchase a new car loses 15–20% of the price, and then every year at 10% of the residual value.

According to technical specifications, the fuel consumption in the combined cycle of this car is 7 liters per 100 kilometers. In reality, the consumption will, of course, be slightly higher.

The car is equipped with rims with a diameter of 14 or 15 inches and, accordingly, inexpensive tires.

The cost of OSAGO depends on many factors: age, driving experience, place of residence, etc. You can easily estimate the cost of insurance in any of the many online calculators.

Skoda for a million: "empty" Octavia or stuffed Rapid? Hello, dear edition of the magazine “Behind the wheel”. I have this question. I drive a car Skoda Rapid 1.6 (110 hp), 6AT in picking "Ambition +" and a winter package. White colour. The car is generally satisfied, but I want to buy the Octavia A7 FL 1.6 (110 hp) 6AT or 1.4 (150 hp) DSG. in the same configuration or "Style". Last preferably. The color is silver. I drive moderately calm. Highway / city - 40/60. All within the SDA. I live in the so-called single-industry town, in the region. SFD. The nearest Skoda dealer (located in the regional center) is about 170 km away. For a year I drive somewhere 10-12 thousand km, driving experience a little more than 3 years. Thank! (Ivan)

Ilya Pimenov:

- Hello, Ivan! If your question is whether it makes sense to change Rapid to Octavia, my answer is yes, it does, if you have the financial ability, since this is an upgrade to a car. And it is better to choose a more powerful version, even if you try to strictly observe traffic rules. A more powerful and faster version will increase safety and increase driving comfort.

The best four-wheel drive cars! Rating ЗР Good afternoon ! I plan to change the Mitsubishi ASX 1.6 to Pajero Sport 2.5 diesel 2012 - 2015 c. with the mechanics. I operate ASX in Karelia, in the winter often there is not enough four-wheel drive, and in the summer roads are one name. I plan to take the sport for 3-5 years. How do you evaluate my choice, what options should I take a closer look at when buying (although there are much fewer options on the mechanics, but more inclined towards the mechanical box). I plan to operate year-round in the city, along the highway, also a forest (hunting, fishing). Maybe offer something worthwhile in the range of 1, 000, 000 - 1, 300, 000 rubles? Thank you in advance! (Novel)

Ilya Pimenov:

- Of course, a frame SUV is much better for a hunter and a fisher than a crossover, so I support your decision. I will not advise other options, because of the frame SUVs in the specified range, only UAZs and Chinese models, and all of them with their own “nuances”. Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a smart choice.

Only the car is now equipped with a 2.4 diesel engine, not 2.5, as you indicated. And the cost starts from 2 199 000 rubles.

If we are talking about a used Pajero Sport (second-generation car), then any options are secondary, first of all you should look for a car in the best condition.

And the most useful options for a diesel car, I would consider all kinds of heating.

Seven-seater crossovers - a big test "Driving" Good afternoon ! I am very glad that the “Direct Line” appeared from the magazine “Behind the Wheel”. I have this question. I plan to buy a car in the spring. I choose in the segment of 7-seater crossovers, because I want to buy a universal car, so that it is enough for all aspects of my life. I am 30 years old. There is a wife and one child so far. I must say right away, the purchase is not too financially easy, you have to borrow a round sum from relatives. Highlander, of course, greatly attracts with comfort, a spacious interior, various pleasant trifles, but it is repelled by price, fuel consumption and outdated multimedia. Therefore, seriously thinking about the Mazda CX-9. It seems to me that they are the same in reliability, but different in age qualifications - Highlander is 40 years old, and if you are 30 and you have a growing family, then this is the Mazda CX-9. how do you think? What other arguments could be for and against? Anything below the price tag does not inspire confidence in reliability. Advise - what to choose? (Without a signature)

Ilya Pimenov:

- My opinion is that you need to buy what you like more and what you have enough money for, without looking back at the opinions of those around you, and even more so marketers, who paint all kinds of portraits of typical buyers. It is only necessary to consider that the car will not only have to be bought, but also maintained. And if you have enough for Toyota - great.

Do not forget that Highlander has permanent all-wheel drive, while Mazda is front-wheel drive by default. If you often go out with your family to nature or plan to do it, this alone can determine your choice.

In addition, the Highlander is more spacious and dynamic than the CX-9. Although it has a simpler interior and a rather conservative exterior design. However, for me it is rather a virtue.

Plus, Highlander will be easier to sell when you decide to change the car.

New Solaris vs Vesta, Polo and Fiesta Which Volkswagen Polo to choose: 90 hp or 110 hp in the configuration Drive? (Without a signature)

Ilya Pimenov:

- The 110-strong version is more expensive by 40 thousand rubles.

In my opinion, this is a justifiable fee for greater convenience when driving. Up to 100 km / h, the 110-horsepower Polo with a manual transmission accelerates 0.8 seconds faster. Obviously, on a more powerful car it is more convenient and safer to overtake.

A car for three hundred thousand - recommendations for choosing Hello. My name is Oleg. I now have a Priora wagon in 2011 with a mileage of 75, 000 km (this is definitely not twisted) and in good technical condition, but with the paintwork - so-so. The car is completely satisfied, probably due to the fact that he never drove foreign cars and did not know what it was like. Plus, I don’t know how to order spare parts for them. A mortgage is expected soon, and the profit after all expenses per month is 35, 000 rubles. Before me is a difficult choice. Either drive the same car for another 5 years and capitalize, or take something newer so that another 7 years you can repair simple units, because the mortgage is insidious, and Priora can already begin to break more seriously (starting from the clutch at 100 000 mileage). I would need about the same size wagon with only a manual gearbox. I look at the H y undai i30, but there are almost no advertisements for the sale of cars for the fresher year. Apparently, the unit is reliable and everyone likes it, however, the clearance of the car is very frustrating. Largus, in principle, is not bad, but his gearbox is set to high revs and is clearly not for the highway; and poor visibility due to such doors. Do you think I should wait for a used Vesta station wagon to cost about 500 thousand rubles, or will used foreign cars be worthy? Or maybe it’s even easier to invest 200, 000 rubles in Priora and make it like new? Indeed, until now, the "tens" and "nines" continue to drive.

I would also like to add. I really like the design of French Peugeot cars from the 2000s, the 407 station wagon looks very decent from the outside, it's a pity that the 408 is now only a sedan. I’m looking for a station wagon in order to purchase furniture for a future apartment in the Moscow region, plus relocation. More station wagons are great for long trips, but I think the rear wiper is the main advantage, so you can always keep a good overview. Is it true that the French Peugeot in our country is difficult to take root and only in recent years, starting in 2013, already with normal traffic? Why is everyone complaining so much about them, and so few reviews?

Thanks in advance for your reply

Ilya Pimenov:

- Oleg, it's nice to meet a connoisseur of generalists. This type of body in our country is underestimated.

Configuring the Lada Largus transmission: fifth stage compartment

If the car began to crumble (although this is surprising with such a run), only a major overhaul will help, which in your case is irrational. And you should not wait until the suitable Vesta universals appear on the secondary market.

I do not want to criticize Peugeot, but the choice of French station wagons is frankly small - finding a worthy copy with your money will be difficult. I would advise you to look at other options, for example Volkswagen Passat. You can buy a sturdy car produced in 2008-2010. With 500 thousand, you can buy a Ford Focus Turnier - most likely, the second generation, after the restyling of 2007. If, of course, you are comfortable with a ground clearance of 150–155 mm (as far as I understand from the question, this parameter is very important for you). If it didn’t have such a value, I would suggest you take a closer look at the Chevrolet Lacetti and Сruze station wagons.

But the clearance is almost out of competition just Lada Largus. And the review in Largus is not so bad - with the right settings for the driver's seat and mirrors. Maybe you should take a closer look?

10 main reasons why the engine is eating oil Good afternoon. Tell me, is it worth buying a Skoda Octavia? We consider 2 options - 1.6 on the machine or 1.4 on the mechanics. We looked at a bunch of videos on YouTube, mainly the engine causes questions. Will there be problems with him? Is there really a serious maslozor because of the weak rings on the pistons? Or still consider other options? For example, Corolla or Citroen? (Ruslan)

Ilya Pimenov:

- YouTube videos are difficult to attribute to reliable sources of information. The same Corolla, like other modern cars, is also reproached by bloggers for “maslozhor” - which is an obvious exaggeration, to say the least.

Skoda really had problems with oil consumption, but only on engines of the 1.8 CDA series (not all). Now the manufacturer allows the consumption of up to 0.5 liters per 1000 km.

I would not give up the car because of the need to control the oil level from time to time. In the end, modern cars and so practically do not require attention from us. And new cars are provided with a rather big guarantee.

With strict maintenance intervals, you are unlikely to have a problem.

BMW declassified Russian prices for the crossover X2 Good afternoon. I live in Moscow. I go to the Mini Country Cooper S. In principle, the car is completely satisfied: four-wheel drive for the winter courtyard, dynamics, the convenience of parallel parking inside the TTK due to the small size of the car, and the capacity for a family of four. But it's time to change the car, I would like to ask for advice on what to get, so that in all respects it was a little better!:)

  • More dynamic (now 8.2 s to hundreds, I would like 7-7.5)
  • The dimensions of the car are completely satisfactory (I looked, the new Countryman was sitting in the neighboring yard - well, already a scandal, and not an assembled bulldog from the Tom & Jerry cartoon. A ride on the new Clubman Cooper S) - not that either: you sit low, the car is wide. Cooper S is a three-door small for a family (although high), the five-door is awkward with nominal doors at the back.
  • I would like a Golf GTI, but they no longer carry it to us.

Your suggestions? Best regards, Dmitry

Ilya Pimenov:

- If you don’t really care about the price - BMW X2 xDrive 20i. The architecture is similar to Countryman, but in all respects a little better. Acceleration to hundreds in 7.7 seconds.

A couple of years ago, to compete with the Golf GTI, I would offer the Ford Focus ST, Opel Astra OPC, Renault Megane RS … Now, these cars can only be remembered.

Renault Dokker - first test and first questions Hello. I own the eighth year of Chevrolet Captiva 3.2 liters. 7 places

Great car! But a run of more than 200 thousand hints that nothing lasts forever. I understand that now there are no classmates for the opportunities offered by my car. Now there are no compact crossovers with 7 seats, a rear window that opens, a folding front seat, an atmospheric engine and a Japanese hydraulic machine. I’m looking for something similar to what I own, but I’m ready to drop to the ground for price reasons.

My selection criteria:

  • reliability of units with high mileage over 7 years of operation
  • engine throttle, providing suburban overtaking without stress on the psyche
  • soul-free pendant
  • the cabin is more spacious than the Ford Focus
  • large trunk in the station wagon or minivan (heel / minibus)
  • profitability or technical feasibility of operating a car on propane (valve compensators, etc.)

Regards, Oleg

Ilya Pimenov:

- It is not clear what exactly is your priority: compact cars or seven-seater? Or is it an atmospheric engine and a Japanese automatic? Or maybe the possibility of operating a car on gas fuel? You also did not indicate the limit of your financial capabilities.

If it’s not important for you to have all-wheel drive, it makes sense to look at the so-called “commercial” vehicles, such as the Peugeot Partner Tepee or Volkswagen Caddy (maybe 7-seater). Although the Germans prefer to put their robotic DSG boxes, rather than Japanese machines. And small-sized supercharged engines, not aspirated. However, all the "heels" are roomy and can withstand large runs. An interesting model is the Citroen Berlingo Multispace. Recently, Renault Dokker has appeared on our market, quite suitable for the role of a family car.

But, it seems to me, cars such as the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe are a little closer to your request.
