Save the child: crash test of seats and boosters Now you can not spend money on child seats. Alas, despite the results of numerous studies and the opinion of most experts, the government decided that children over seven years old in the back seat can be fastened with regular seat belts.
Paragraph 22.9 of the Rules of the road now looks like this:
“The transportation of children under the age of 7 years in a passenger car and a truck’s cab, the design of which provides seat belts or seat belts and the ISOFIX child restraint system, must be carried out using child restraint systems (devices) that are appropriate for the weight and height of the child.
Transportation of children aged 7 to 11 years (inclusive) in a passenger car and truck cab designed to include seat belts or seat belts and the ISOFIX child restraint system must be carried out using child restraint systems (devices) that are appropriate for the weight and height of the child, or using seat belts, and in the front seat of a car - only using child restraint systems (devices) that are appropriate for the weight and height of the child.
Installation of children's restraint systems (devices) in a passenger car and truck cab and placement of children in them must be carried out in accordance with the instruction manual for the indicated systems (devices). It is forbidden to transport children under the age of 12 in the back seat of a motorcycle.”
The rules for transporting children have changed. If in the front seat children under 11 years old are allowed to carry only with restraints, then in the back seat for small passengers from 7 to 11 years old you can fasten with regular belts. One part of car owners will breathe a sigh of relief, they say, now you do not need to spend extra money on car seats. Another will think with concern about the consequences when a seven-year-old child without a car seat is in the colliding cars. Just a couple of months ago, we conducted our research, which showed that only with a child seat can you save a child.
Are children in danger ?
At first, I thought that our government was not interested in child safety issues. But, having read the next amendment, I realized that this is not so. Well, at least the officials tried to show themselves to be children's advocates.
From this day on, children under seven cannot be left alone in the car under any pretext! There is no punishment yet, but I’m sure that soon the majority party’s deputies will establish a serious punishment for the fallen car owners. I believe it will be either a five thousand fine, or an administrative arrest, or a deprivation of the right to govern. And after that, the materials will be redirected to the department of guardianship. Once you leave the baby alone in the car, then you are a useless parent and you must certainly be deprived of the rights (already parental).
Leaving children under 7 years old in the car without adult supervision is not allowed! Even if you come to a gas station or decide to pay for parking. Punishment, however, is not for it yet. In general, to prescribe this in the Rules of the Road, in my opinion, is nonsense. In the existing legislation there are enough norms by which you can punish a really guilty parent. Take, for example, the article of the Criminal Code “Abandonment”. So no, it is necessary to register one more requirement in the SDA, which, by the way, will not work. Well, who do you think will track parked cars? DPS inspectors, who are almost invisible on the road?
In general, this decision is worthy of our government: how loud, so meaningless.
Meeting
Another suggestion is about oncoming. Everything is simple here. In order to avoid disputes, a separate clause appeared in Section 9 of the Rules explaining when it is impossible to call into the oncoming traffic. In fact, this is a repetition of certain provisions of the SDA.
The ban on leaving the oncoming lane was prescribed in the SDA separately. Perhaps there will be less disputes between drivers and traffic police inspectors. The traffic rules spell out all cases when it is forbidden to go into the oncoming traffic lane. But if the ban on such roads is obvious, then on two-lane roads, apparently not. Otherwise, I can’t explain the logic of the proposed changes. The traffic rules spell out all cases when it is forbidden to go into the oncoming traffic lane. Blacklist: what can be deprived of a driver’s license
We read and remember paragraph 9.1 (1):
“On any two-way road, traffic on a lane intended for oncoming traffic is prohibited if it is separated by tram tracks, a dividing lane, markings 1.1, 1.3 or markings 1.11, whose dashed line is on the left."
In other words, if the road is divided by tram tracks, forget about overtaking. In the same way, we forget about overtaking (as well as just about moving along the oncoming lane) if the oncoming is separated by one continuous (1.1), double continuous (1.3) or double lane, one of which is intermittent (1.11). And I separately remind you about line 1.11. It can be crossed from the discontinuous side (starting overtaking) and from the solid side (ending with overtaking). On the contrary - it is impossible.
