In Moscow, closed the killer crossing! This good news was published 15 years ago in Moskovsky Komsomolets (MK No. 1260 of August 18, 2001). We quote our colleagues: “The most notorious pedestrian crossing through the Garden Ring (in the Kudrinskaya Square area) will soon finally go underground.” And yet, a little further: “… they plan to remove all traffic lights from Kudrinskaya Square” …
- Very good! - we were happy then.
- E-mine! - we said yesterday.
And what else did you have to say when you saw … the revived "transition of death"? Is the proximity of the Patriarch's Ponds with the Bulgakov devilry still making itself felt?
When you remove traffic lights, dig underground passages and prohibit, for example, left turns - this is understandable. By the way, 15 years ago they wanted to lay Krasnopresnensky Prospekt and two oncoming tunnels under Kudrinskaya Square, which will begin near the planetarium and end on Novinsky Boulevard. The engineers had the option to connect future tunnels with the tunnel under Novinsky Boulevard, but it seems that there was not enough money then.
Today, apparently, there is money. But instead of the tunnels once promised (whether they are needed or not - it's a dark thing) we get new traffic lights on the Garden Ring and ground crossings. Near the underground, by the way.
And here is another new building - opposite the skyscraper on Uprising Square. But how do 10 bands of the Garden Ring behave? That's right: they will stop! There is no official information yet, but we will try to get it, for which we have sent requests to the relevant departments. By the way, ground crossings began to appear in various places - for example, opposite the American embassy. And, again, a stone's throw from the underpass.
