The design of many modern cars is such that the headlights seem to fit into the contours of the body parts. Naturally, you can’t do without gaps. Through cracks 3-5 mm wide, dust, splashes fly under the hood, and in winter also chemicals. The consequence - dirty parts of the power unit, oxidized contacts of electrical equipment and so on. It is not difficult to get rid of the problems: we seal these cracks with transparent silicone sealant (in warm weather and when the parts are dry!). Frozen, it will turn into an elastic gasket, which, if necessary, is easy to remove.

It had to happen! They were getting ready to celebrate in the garage on April 1, for which it was necessary to quickly drive on my Logan to the general store. But then a healthy buddy, in a hurry to defeat the rear door window regulator, managed to twist the slots of the plastic handle. What to do? Riding with the window down is uncomfortable. And to remove the handle from the opposite door is time to lose. And then an electric screwdriver caught my eye. And instantly helped out. Of course, then I put a new pen - not to force my missus to wield a screwdriver!
WATER PROCEDURE

With a run of Logan under 100, 000 km, it was necessary to replace the plastic bushings in the connection of the gear lever with the longitudinal traction. But the big move and backlash vertically remained. Is the hinge on which the lever pivots worn out? Having lifted the cover and turned the plastic nut, I determined that the defect was not in the hinge itself, but in the excessive play of the rubber sleeve in the case. For a long time, rubber, constantly heating up from the exhaust pipe, has dried up! I did not want to change the entire node. A small sector was cut out of a plastic cap from a 19 liter bottle of water, the rest fell tightly into the case and tightly clamped the rubber in diameter and height. It only remained to tighten the plastic nut, and the gears began to shift, like on a new machine.

It’s bad if the car, having lost its last parking, sleeps in the next quarter and from there you have to drag a heavy battery home to recharge. By the way, the most modern batteries are not much lighter than grandfathers. But thanks to the angular shape, the former were more convenient to carry on hand. And how to drag the current, smooth? The solution was prompted by numerous television series that clearly demonstrate the virtues of strong adhesive tape. So I use it, dragging the battery. Just before carrying, I definitely check to see if there are tears on the edge of the tape.

I found a simple solution: I fixed on top of the seat cushion the usual tourist "seat" - it has convenient mounting straps. A lot has been said about the advantages of wheel studs over bolts. It is a pity, the choice of these same studs for Lada cars, to put it mildly, is not rich. The price of branded kits is high; buying cheap Chinese of unknown quality is more expensive. Not everyone will be able to make studs on their own. In my opinion, a great option is the axle studs from the KamAZ 4310 truck, with M12 × 1.25 thread. They are made of stainless steel and galvanized. Before installation, I shortened the screwed part by 3-4 mm. I applied thread sealant. Nuts - wheel from Niva.
