For some reason, Andersson’s critics forgot that in 2009–2010 50 billion rubles were piled into AvtoVAZ. - at that time, this is about $ 2 billion, which is now equivalent to almost 140 billion rubles! Losses in annual terms are commensurate, but then the plant did not have new and, most importantly, decent cars - but now there are.

Of course, Boo is not an angel. His decision to organize the assembly of Vesta in Izhevsk was reckless. Indeed, about 7 billion rubles were invested in the preparation of Vesta’s production in Tolyatti, and the transfer to Izhevsk, according to some reports, cost another 10 billion. And this despite the fact that two-thirds of the components are made in Togliatti, and therefore the plant "falls" on serious logistics costs, which might not have happened at all. And of course, no one, including Rostec’s head Sergei Chemezov, could have imagined that the current crisis would be so deep and protracted. But the lion's share of losses (42 billion rubles) was formed due to the depreciation of the company's assets, which neither Chemezov nor people are more influential (maybe this is exactly what Bu Andersson explains to the governor of the Samara region Nikolai Merkushkin in our photo so concentratedly).

What is Andersson’s main mistake? He believed that his main task was to arrange the production of quality cars on time and to maintain a 20 percent market share. He coped with both the one and the other, albeit with some reservations. And the share of AvtoVAZ in the total volume of machine production in Russia even increased. Andersson, who was in charge of the supply of components at the General Motors concern, ate the dog in quality matters. He knows every seam in the car, every detail - that’s why Vesta turned out to be so embarrassing. This is the first human-made car since the “classics” made according to Italian technology and brought to mind by the G8 Germans. Neither the “ten”, nor Kalina, nor the VAZ 2123, which later turned into a Chevy Niva, did not even stand close in quality.

The only trouble is that people want West for the price of Kalina and refuse to believe Andersson that this is impossible. Believe me then: impossible. Either a bucket of bolts, or a normal car at an average market price. A lot of expensive imported components? Yes. But ours are still not good.
