“The athletic lines of the back emphasize the sportiness of the look …” This is not about the famous athlete or the winner of the beauty contest. This is a quote from the fifth generation Corsa.
To argue how much the loin portion of the car affects consumer perception is an ungrateful occupation. The design is either like it or not. In this case, objective information can only be that the appearance of the Korsa was noticeably refreshed, although it is not difficult to guess the predecessor’s platform: the chassis is not new, but thoroughly modernized.
Even more changes in the cabin. He is neither better nor worse - he is different. And the color touch monitor instead of the audio center buttons looks modern. The only gripe is about the krutiloks who are in charge of climate control: they are located at the very bottom of the center console. Usually, secondary controls are placed like this, but the ability to quickly send warm air to the glass is more important than the quick setup of the audio system. Kosyachok.
WILL IT BE EASY BETTER?

Employees of "Opel" assured: the engineers finished the suspension and steering, so that the controllability of the car became flawless. It remains to verify.

New Opel Corsa dreams of big sport with OPC Line package
Unfortunately, the chain “listened to the experts' report - took a ride on a new machine - told its readers” is increasingly failing. Companies strive to show the goods in person and exhibit cars in the maximum configuration at presentations. And on our market, as usual, get simpler modifications. And this time, all the test "corso" are shod in 17 inch low-profile tires - which come with a sports suspension.
Such a “Corsa” is going great: it’s also excellent in cornering, and the directional stability is good, and the steering is very accurate. But Maxim Kadakov already spoke about such a car (ZR, 2014, No. 9) - and I was eager to evaluate the Korsa’s abilities with a conventional suspension adapted for poor roads and with higher-profile tires of 185 / 70R14 or 185 / 65R15 size. Alas.
However, the first trip to the new Kors on German roads and her own experience suggest that she will have no problems in Russian destinations. Engineers at Opel are able to adapt cars to bad roads, not at the expense of handling, all the more so since the suspension at the Korsa is not too complicated (McPherson in front, connected levers at the back), in addition, energy-intensive and durable.

“Corsa” performed by “OPC-Line”. High-quality finish, gorgeous front seats - both versions are good, although the steering wheel and gear lever are more convenient in a standard cabin. “Corsa” performed by “OPC-Line”. TO US - WITHOUT SUPPLY
The Korsa has new turbocharged gasoline engines: a four-cylinder (1.4 liter, 100 hp) and a three-cylinder Litrushka. The first captivates not so much with power as with high torque: 200 Nm. The second produces 90 or 115 hp. and develops 170 Nm Unfortunately, such versions will not be delivered to Russia yet.
And the motors are good! Especially 115 strong three-cylinder, paired with which the new six-speed gearbox of the M1x family works. Engineers promised "extreme ease of switching." And here’s what I’ll tell you: without climbing under the hood, only a very experienced opelevod identifies the new box in the direction and effort on the lever. Switching from first gear to second is a little better, the course is a little shorter … Great box, but the old ones are no worse.
With a four-cylinder engine, for example, a six-speed M32 gearbox, familiar to the previous generation Corsa OPC owners, is docked. It is designed for engines with high torque and is also good. But we will not see the mentioned boxes yet.
In spring, Russia will begin to sell "corsa" with an atmospheric 1.4 gasoline engine (90 hp, factory designation B14XEL). Box - a five-speed "mechanics" F17, familiar from the 1990s models. Those who don’t like the clutch pedal will be offered a six-speed “automatic machine” of the 6Tхх family (manufactured by General Motors) with the same engine. Cars with the third-generation Isitronic robot based on the same mechanical F17 will not be sold.
The stake is placed on proven and inexpensive, including in service, units. In the current economic situation, this is correct: Korsa must be an affordable car. True, our prices have not yet been approved.
Modifications with diesels will appear a bit later, and this is good news. The upgraded Opel 1.3 CDTI engines for heavy fuel (75 and 95 hp) are very economical: three and a few liters per hundred kilometers in the combined cycle is a very good indicator.

LIKE THE SENIORS
But electronic news will not deprive us. On the front panel is a seven-inch touch screen multimedia system "Intel-Link". She is friends with all modern mobile devices, regardless of the operating system. You can complain as much as you like that the world has reached the stage when the car is selected for the model of a mobile phone, but the fact that the new Corsa will suit both adherents of iPhones and fans of Android is an important fact.

Another useful thing is the Hill Start Assist, which is included in the basic equipment.
There are other options: camcorders that recognize traffic signs; automatic switching from high beam to low beam; lane keeping systems and blind spot monitoring systems; active cruise control and automatic parking.
But perhaps the most interesting is the new power steering feature. A variable, depending on speed, performance is no longer surprising. The button for switching to the "city" mode is also. But the joint work of a dynamic stabilization system with an amplifier and, as a result, compensating taxiing with strong gusts of crosswind is new. Already in a compact classroom, this is definitely a rarity. Behind the "Opel" this is usual - even small cars are equipped at the level of older models: in terms of advanced systems, the Korsa is not far behind the Astra and Insignia.
The predecessor lasted eight years in production: almost three million cars were sold. The new "Corsa" also has a chance to become a centenarian. And we will see both new engines and new gearboxes - but not immediately, but when economic storms subside. Everything has its time.
