Judging by the abundance of videos posted on the Web, on Russian roads, the number of cars with registrars is growing not by the day, but by the hour. In the next test, we brought together a dozen popular devices based on the sales results of a large online store. A significant difference in cost - from 1600 to 5400 rubles. - only add intrigue. Our last test (ЗР, 2013, No. 5) showed that the numbers on the price tag are far from always adequate to the characteristics.
As the popularity and saturation of the market grows, the price of registrars is actively going down. Today, models with good quality shooting are available for 2500-4000 rubles
From the most affordable pair - “Supra SCR-610” and “Sho-Mi HD-8000SX” - did not expect a miracle. It did not happen. Both cameras make it possible to read the license plate only if the car is traveling strictly in front of the lens and is not fast. You can see the symbols on cars in the adjacent rows only in traffic, and even then with great luck. Sho-Mi shoots a little better, but the passport data explains everything: the resolution is 1920 × 1080 pixels versus 1280 × 720 for the Supra. In addition, the 8000th model, unlike its competitor, does not freeze and has an auto-enable function.

“Mystery MDR-695DHR” and “Prolodzhi iReg-5000HD” are only 350-400 rubles more expensive than the first two devices, and the recording quality is not ideal, but still higher. The first registrar shoots a little better opponent during the day, and he recoups at night. However, the “Mystery” acceptable displays in the dark license plates even in adjacent bands, allows you to read the characters in direct light of the headlights (this is by the teeth not every model). But the brightness of the picture is depressing: looking at a record even from well-lit Moscow streets, I did not recognize all the models of cars that were a little off. To justify the 695th model, I will say that the manufacturer does not promise full HD quality, indicating a resolution of 1920 × 720.
The Prologi recorder is inseparable from the bulky bracket: it is inconvenient to carry, with each installation you need to re-adjust. The Sho-Mi HD-6000F is noticeably better than the cheaper 8000SX counterpart. It shoots well in the dark, a little worse during the day.
Almost everyone has a night shooting mode, but does not give a noticeable gain in quality. Willingly used by manufacturers, LED or infrared lights are completely inoperative

Close at the price of "Rhythmix AVR-855" for 3000 rubles. earned solid fives for shooting. I believe that the quality of the video is the main criterion for evaluating the registrar, but I did not put the “Choice of ZR” icon for this model, the cheapest of the best students. The display looks down - you can use it only by removing the DVR. The power on the power key is insufficient: the Rhythmix comes to life independently in a pocket or bag. Strange operation of the GPS module: in the middle of one of the fragments, time inexplicably shifted 4 hours ahead. The reboot helped, but after a couple of hours the glitch repeated. After installing "Rhythmics" you need to connect two wires - power and GPS receiver. There is no spare Velcro in the kit: glue without the right to make a mistake. In general, there are too many flaws for one device.
The market is full of twin devices under different brands. On the right is a participant in last year's Bliss-Avtokam NV310 test, on the left is the DVR-604 Texet. In the next group there are four models at once, which earned the highest scores for day and night work. Despite the different cases, the Sho-Mi HD-7000G and the Navigator 7100HD turned out to be twins: the menu, interface, mount and recording quality are identical. Both models praise for the wide viewing angle: virtually the entire width of the windshield. I did not find significant shortcomings in both registrars, but the minimum price of Sho-Mi was lower. The DVR-604 Texet is a bit more expensive, and he also found a twin. In our test last year, his name was Bliss-Avtokam NV310. The differences are in the mount and one additional feature of the 604th: you can put a stamp with the license plate number of your car on its record.

"Karkam" is a fairly well-known name among DVRs, but could not do without comments. The model "QS3 Eco" several times did not work automatically. And, much more significant, non-removable mount makes the already rather large gadget in size bulky. On the plus side is the built-in memory. An important fragment is copied to the hard disk with a single keystroke - a flash drive can be given to the accident participants or traffic police inspector without fear that the recording will be lost. Rhythmix, the 7000th Sho-Mi and Magic Vision also have a similar function.
Many firms have moved to the top location of the power socket. It is understood that the owner will lay the wire under the casing and the connector will hang from the ceiling. Two models stand apart. The Mio-MayVview M300, which shot excellently, is sold for no less than 5400 rubles - the most expensive of the whole company. It is suitable for use in a car, but its target audience is motorcyclists. The device and all connections are waterproof, in the kit are mounts on the steering wheel and helmet, as well as a cigarette lighter socket with a wire for connecting to the on-board network. According to the manufacturer, the battery lasts for two hours of battery life. Hence the price. I recommend that I buy this Mio for a car only to those who change from four wheels to two in the spring.

"Magic Vision VR-400" is made originally - in the form of a salon mirror. It looks rich: two cameras built into the mirror plus one remote on a 5-meter cable, GPS-receiver, shock sensor and internal memory. But communicating with the gadget was not a pleasure. Managing settings and additional features with a fuzzy joystick is annoying. On the test sample, the auto-off of the display did not work, and with a burning monitor in the dark, you can forget about the rearview mirror. The minimum brightness level helps only in part. The main cameras give out a picture of only 1280 × 720 pixels, additional and even worse - 640 × 480. Moreover, at the same time, Magic Vision can record only from two of them. The GPS sensor is remote (which is inconvenient in itself), it needs to be glued to the glass and connected to the mirror with a wire, which will certainly attract extra attention. And you can’t hide such a recorder in your pocket.
