Why buy canisters now? To refuel a tiller, lawnmower or outboard motor. Indeed, on their own, these units will not get to the gas station. There is still caravanning, not the one that Moscow is St. Petersburg, but the real one, away from civilization. There is no way to do without NZ. And the plastic container is also lightweight, and the rumble from it is much less.
Buying a canister is easy - at least in the store, at least at the gas station. But in the majority it is impossible to fill in gasoline! Motor oil - please, but gasoline - nothing. The wrong canister will almost immediately begin to stink of gasoline poured into it. The smell will leak out not only through various kinds of leaks and cracks, but also through the porous walls! The latter is so important that it was awarded a separate standard in the international agreement of ADR *. In addition, the housing of a non-specialized container may dissolve, break, burst.
Therefore, a gas canister is made only of gas-resistant plastic with special additives to neutralize static charge. Such products are supplied to our market, for example, by the Canadian Septer Corporation and the German Hyunsdorff.
Unfortunately, even remembering the name of the right company, you can run into trouble. And all because the same company has every right to produce products of different price categories: say, for water, for motor oil, for gasoline. Sellers often use this when purchasing the cheapest products: they say, take it - the company! Several rules will help weed out defective goods at the selection stage. Nothing complicated: turn in your hands, push with your fingers, unscrew the cork. All the details are in the photo.
A rough body is a sure sign that the canister was made not for gasoline

WITH PLASTIC CONTAINERS AT A Filling Station
The ban on fueling plastic cans, from our point of view, is stupid amateur activity. There are no such restrictions in Europe. After all, cars themselves have long been equipped with plastic tanks! But to clear our conscience, we sent a request to LUKOIL.
“Refueling at the gas stations of LUKOIL-Centernefteproduct LLC is permitted in plastic canisters designed for the storage and transportation of petroleum products. In particular, such canisters can be bought in stores at our gas stations.”

In other words, if your canister is “correct”, then there will be no questions.

* FIRE DANGER
ADR (Road Transport of Dangerous Goods) is an international agreement on the general rules for the transport of dangerous goods. It regulates, in particular, the storage and transport of hazardous substances in containers designed for this purpose, the packaging and labeling of which must be certified in the UN class. At the same time, additional tests are mandatory for the transportation of gasoline, the results of which are certainly included in the UN certificate. The inscription on the label “For technical fluids” does not at all indicate that gasoline can be poured into such a canister. Manufacturers are well aware of this and especially specify this moment in their certificates: they say, with the exception of benzene, toluene, xylene, etc. But sellers, of course, do not advertise it. And more often they just don’t understand what it’s about.
