The most common violations both in Europe and in our country are speeding and non-compliance with parking rules. At home, we are already accustomed to the “letters of happiness”, we have understood the procedure. But far from everyone knows what to do with overseas penal receipts.
If you were stopped by a police patrol for speeding or if you found a receipt for illegal parking on the car glass, there’s only one advice: hurry to the bank to pay a fine (especially since in many European countries, if you do this on the same day, the amount is halved). Otherwise, you run into problems when leaving the country or when applying for a visa the next time - non-payers fall into a single European database.
Violations of the high-speed mode are recorded everywhere, like ours, with video cameras. If you rented a car, then the requirement to pay a fine will sooner or later find the addressee: all the driver information is available from the rental company. The same goes for parking violations. If the car is registered in the Russian Federation, then the violation caught by the camera seems to go unpunished, because there are no agreements between the European states and Russia on the mutual recognition and enforcement of decisions on administrative matters. But this is not a reason to break the rules: foreign servants of the law have levers of influence on violators. To punish a particularly malicious one, they can send a patrol by car or identify it by the border database. And then, the hour is uneven, you will be on the black list, and this will give reason to refuse you a visa, car rental …
Theoretically unpaid fines of Russians can be taken up by collection agencies. Some foreign and Russian “debt bouncers” have concluded agreements. True, the actions of such agencies are most often warning and awesome in nature, because without a court decision, collectors cannot knock out debts. But visa sanctions are quite real.
What to do after receiving a penalty receipt from another country? Only one thing is to pay.
Details for payment are indicated on the receipt. Any bank making international transfers is suitable. Just be sure to find out what the size of the commission is: so many percent of the transfer amount or a fixed fee - for example, 30 euros. Payment will be accepted by the post office. If for some reason there are no details in the order, carefully study the receipt. As a rule, the telephone number of the authority that issued the order or e-mail is indicated there. If you wish, you can always find out the missing information. Agree, it is better to lose a little time for this, but to sleep calmly than to worry about waiting for the next visa - will they give out or refuse?
