Impressions of one of such crossover novelties GOODYEAR - EfficientGrip SUV - shared with us Pavel Vladimirov from Moscow region.
There are no universal recipes for choosing tires. And when it comes to crossover shoes, you can even break your head. Here, after all, one must take into account the possibility of driving both on the ground and on asphalt. In order not to bother before the summer season, I shod my AUDI Q5 3.0 TDI in special crossover EfficientGrip SUV 235/65 R17.
During the external inspection and during the installation of tires on the wheels, he drew attention to the softness of the rubber. She seemed to even stick a little to her hands. Installation and balancing did not take much time, all tires turned out to be smooth and easily balanced. In addition, the tread pattern is non-directional, which simplifies the work.

So, all four wheels with summer tires are installed on the car, you can hit the road! The first driving experience is a clearer contact with the road, more precise handling, the absence of attempts to break into a skid during sudden acceleration, cornering and braking. True, it should be borne in mind that you experience such emotions every time you change winter tires to summer tires … Eh, you would have a lower profile, but then it will not be 4x4 tires at all. Tires showed themselves very well on wet and dry pavement, there was a feeling that the car began to brake more efficiently, and the braking distance was reduced. In a word, completely different emotions from driving.
AUDI Q5 - the car is quite energy-equipped, its 3-liter diesel engine develops 245 hp. It easily accelerates a rather heavy (1993 kg) four-wheel drive car. According to passport data, the acceleration time to 100 km / h is 6.5 s. Such a car needs very reliable tires. According to my impressions, the EfficientGrip SUV enables the driver to realize the potential inherent in the car.

In the brochures, the tire manufacturer promises to reduce fuel consumption through the use of new technologies in production. So far I have not noticed a clear gain in fuel, but it has not increased, that's for sure. It is more important for me how new tires will prove to be wear-resistant. After all, not all modern tires can boast high mileage. Well, time will tell.
Operating conditions are pretty tough. On average, the daily mileage of a car consists of 80 km on the highway, 40 km of pushing in city traffic jams and 5 km of dirt road. The tire behavior suits me. EfficientGrip SUVs keep the car well on these surfaces, demonstrating low noise when driving at high speeds on the track, as well as good stability and grip on the primer.
