Now you need to pass the launch test. I have heard about the weaknesses of the 500 L version with a 1.3 L Multijet diesel engine, which is too slow for this 1365 kg machine. I’m an ordinary person, but with a sporty character. In the hope that the new 1.6-liter diesel engine will not turn out to be a dull cucumber, I turn the key. The "Bubble" scooped up mountain air - and, apparently filled with diesel fuel "Arctic", happily wound up without too much noise and vibration.

In the high seat, I immediately felt superior to the surrounding snowdrifts. Here are just a square bagel, taken from the "Panda", too small and does not decorate a large car. Depending on its position, the boot volume varies from 343 to 400 liters. Here I can take away any ammunition (you still need to call on the dealer for it). The tailgate is huge, the loading area is low and can be increased to 1310 liters with the seats folded. I especially liked the idea of dividing the trunk with a moving shelf on two floors. There is also a “basement”, but in our conditions it is better to sacrifice it, putting at least a dokatka.

The 500 L is lightweight and pleasant to operate; the seat is comfortable, but does not provide good lateral support. And the landing is too vertical.
In the city, the car becomes even more obedient. The snow has already melted from the salt - you can accelerate on asphalt. I hold my legs wide, without clinging to the pedals, under the left moderately soft grip, under the right are good brakes; The buttons on the panel are conveniently located. Still, engine noise is heard on the track, and the interior does not warm up as fast as we would like. But the windows do not sweat.

The range of engines is gasoline 0.9 l (105 hp), 1.4 l (95 and 162 hp) and diesel 1.3 l (85 hp), 1.6 l (105 l).with.); my car has the last one. With a six-speed gearbox, it has the largest torque - 320 Nm at 1750 rpm. The 500 L slides into the hill with dignity, without excessive agility. It is safe in overtaking, but not “Abart”. The suspension is quite comfortable, but a little more maneuverability now would not hurt me.
No matter how you press the gas pedal, to the second and higher, the Fiat accelerates according to its own measured plan. Alfa Romeo-Juliet with the same engine and gearbox faster.
According to the manufacturer, fuel consumption in the mixed mode is 4.5 l / 100 km. Judging by the computer, I got 7.8 liters. Yes, I used the sixth gear and the start-stop system a little, more than once skidded to the smelly smoke in the clutch. But, it seems, I was in a hurry in vain.
