The first reports that the second-generation Logan will be assembled in Tolyatti appeared last year, and now they found visible confirmation in the form of spy photos of the pilot cars going along the B0 (be-zero) line of the VAZ conveyor, on which the soplatform Largus and Almera.

Given the time required to debug production and eliminate the inevitable flaws in the first copies, the Tolyatti plant is likely to be able to begin full-scale release of new items not earlier than the end of summer, and most likely, this fall. The photographs posted on the carobka.ru website clearly show that the structure of the head lighting is the same as that of the Turkish Renault Symbol headlights (aka Logan in Ukraine) - another clone of the second generation bestseller. It is logical to assume that the design of the front of our Logan will be identical to the Turkish version, but here, as they say, options are possible. But the interior will almost certainly become the same (or differing only in minor details), like the Symbol. At least in the same spy photos, the center console is clearly visible with rectangular (like Symbol), and not round (like Dacia) ventilation deflectors.

What's next?
On this information leaked from Tolyatti about the future new product is exhausted. But the most interesting is to come! As we recall, the Dacia Logan sedan has brothers with a hatchback - Sandero and Sandero Stepway. At first glance, the logical continuation of the production of Logan in Togliatti would be the assembly of this couple, especially since it is also in demand in our market. However, AvtoVAZ seems to have slightly different types of them.
All according to plan
Here we need to make a small digression and recall the AvtoVAZ development program until 2020. It clearly sets out the dates for the debut of new models, including the mysterious BM-Hatch and B-Cross, whose launch is scheduled for 2014 and 2015, respectively. It is clear that for the remaining time it’s unrealistic to develop two completely new models from scratch and set up their production. Even with the use of off-the-shelf platforms from Granta / Kalina or the same French B0, for which the “double-car” plant has a license.
Development plan

And here that very couple will prove to be very useful - Sandero and Sandero Stepway. AvtoVAZ chief designer Steve Mattin will have no trouble transforming them into VAZ models with a new face in the style of last year's XRAY concept. Then everything falls into place. VAZ employees report on the launch of two new models and boldly put a tick in the paragraph of the plant development program. Sandero enters our market, and even under the domestic brand. Patriots rejoice. Cosmopolitans are not offended either.
By the way, with a high degree of probability, under the hoods of the new Togliatti hatchbacks will be Nissan engines, the production of which is also going to be mastered at the VAZ in the near future.

Presented at last year’s Moscow Motor Show, the Lada XRAY concept was initially announced not as a prototype of a specific promising AvtoVAZ model, but as a carrier of the idea. Englishman Steve Mattin, the new chief designer of the Togliatti plant, embodied his vision of the future face of the Lada brand. It should be noted that the “face” turned out to be quite attractive, as evidenced by the reaction of the public at the car dealership, and the favorable comments in the press. The leading theme in the exterior of the concept was the X-shaped stroke, clearly distinguishable both in the solution of the frontal part and in the stampings on the sidewalls.
