This "nine" is located on a neutral strip, very close to the entrance to the territory of Kazakhstan, if you go from Tashkent. This "nine" without wheels, a motor and half of the parts brilliantly symbolizes the customs union of three countries - Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus.
We were convinced of his incapacity on our own experience. It happened to cross this border (Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan) by car; They hoped to get through quickly - the car was bought by a Russian company, all the documents were drawn up in advance, and even there were Russian customs guarantees (150 000 rubles on deposit). It didn’t work out. We stood for seven long hours next to the remains of the Nine while we were clearly explained to us: in fact, there is no Customs Union. Russian documents do not work in Kazakhstan, the Union countries do not even have a single database. Therefore, you must make another deposit (about $ 5, 000). Or go through the territory of the country, accompanied by a customs officer, for which to pay at the cash desk about 1000 euros and a certain amount in cash. Hearing this, we already looked at the Nine as a gloomy prophecy.

It turns out that the Customs Union is just a fiction? This is what we were convinced of during a three-day trip ("accompanied", of course) through Kazakhstan by officials and ordinary drivers. But it turned out that this is not so!
The employees of the Orenburg customs department who are not letting us home are sure of this. The reason: since the customs authorities of Kazakhstan refused to accept the customs documents of Russia and sent the car under escort, the Russian side … also refuses to trust the documents issued by the Central Excise Customs in Moscow. And it is taken to deliver the car to the capital only under guard and with escort.
For a long time we persuaded compatriots to at least leave the car in our temporary storage warehouse - they were adamant. “Only after your company transfers to the account of our department the full amount for escorting the car to Moscow and we see the money in our account, we will talk” - this is the answer we received. It was on Friday: rest, they say, until the next week in Kazakhstan, countrymen, and in vain do not bother us.
So the golden Chevrolet-Cobalt from the cover, another victim of the Customs Union, remained in the Kazakh city of Aktobe.
We will make every effort - not only to rescue the car in the near future, but also to find out why Russian and Kazakh customs officers extorted money from us, whether they had the right not to let us into Russia.
