In fact, the diversity is apparent. The brands are different, but the compressors are structurally divided into two groups: in plastic cases and, let's say, open execution. For testing, we chose a tire of a sufficiently large size - 235 / 55R17. The actual compressor performance was estimated with a pumping time of up to 2.5 bar - a typical value for cars of these classes. Upon reaching this pressure, the current consumed, the noise level and the temperature of the metal casing of the pump itself, were detected, if it is accessible for touch.

Is compressor performance important?
If a compressor is needed to pump up the wheels or to pump one lowered from scratch, it is not too important. However, low-power products have, as a rule, a very limited time of continuous operation. They don’t pump up two big wheels in a row, you have to pause. But if you undertake the independent installation of a tubeless tire, the highest possible performance is critical: you can’t put the tire on the rim with a weak air stream.
What is the best way to connect to the on-board network - through the cigarette lighter socket (outlet) or directly to the battery?
Depending on the car model, the socket (cigarette lighter socket) can be protected with a standard fuse of 10-16 A.
