the details

Wash parts and assemblies from dirt adhering to them with diesel fuel, drained from the tank of the truck being repaired - the last century. Like it or not, fuel is an oil product, into which certain chemical compounds are added during production - additives that improve or correct its composition depending on the requirements for cleanliness (Euro) and season (winter / summer). Therefore, contact with it leads to irritation of the skin, mucous membrane of the eyes, and inhalation of vapors is harmful to the body. You can’t argue with this, as well as the fact that the final result of manual (with diesel fuel and the hands of a worker) and machine (in a mechanical installation using specialized liquid or concentrate, powder) methods will be the same.
The difference lies only in productivity: the use of special fluids and systems is beyond competition, as well as in relation to labor protection requirements. As for the comparison of the cost of operations (standard hours that a worker spends manually washing parts) and the prices of special liquids, equipment and its depreciation, the question: “What is more profitable?” Is a moot point. So, the apprentice will be for half, or even a third of the master’s salary, to wash the details in the basin with a brush from morning to evening. Note that manual labor is mainly used in small multi-brand service stations. The washing of parts in branded service centers is organized in a completely different way: automation of “dirty” processes reigns there.

As a rule, there are three types of sinks for cleaning parts in the repair area. The first is used to clean exclusively components of power systems, and in particular nozzles. Where nozzles are washed, it is strictly forbidden to “bathe” other details, as precision pairs are very sensitive even to a seemingly small, invisible eye abrasive. That is why in the area of washing parts of fuel equipment, high purity is observed, and the installation itself is not mounted in the general workshop, but on the repair site of fuel equipment. To clean dirty components and parts, including brake pads, before re-ripping the friction clutches, equipment is used that provides heating of the washing fluid to high temperatures.
The best results are given with a solution of water with alkali. Despite the fact that modern friction materials do not contain asbestos, which, as a carcinogen, can provoke oncological diseases, pads are washed before repair without fail - both from wear products, dust, and other contaminants. Note that the spent liquid does not drain into the sewer, but is cleaned and reused as intended. In other words, the installation implements the closed-loop principle. The alkaline number of the liquid is maintained by periodically adding appropriate reagents to the solution. For washing engine parts in manual and automatic modes, its own, separate installation is used, on which, in particular, it is very convenient and efficient to clean oil centrifuges. First, the master manually removes a thick coating from the filter cavity, and then the equipment starts automatically. The working fluid is in the barrel, which is located under the sink. Upon reaching a certain degree of contamination, a special reagent is added to the liquid, which reacts with the dirt and deposits it on the bottom of the barrel. The purified fraction is again ready for use. When fluid is consumed, its stocks are periodically replenished with fresh.

- Most often, service stations for cleaning parts, assemblies or machine units in automatic washers acquire Agressol powder. It is simple to use: until a detergent composition is obtained, it is elementarily diluted in water in an ordinary metal (plastic) bucket or directly in the washing tank. "Aggressol" is sold in bags of two kilograms. The main thing is to take into account the proportions that are indicated in the attached instructions. To use this drug at service stations with large volumes of work is not a cheap pleasure, since the cost of a two-kilogram bag is about 2000 rubles. For a month of continuous washing at 100% loading of the area (the washing works 8 hours a day), approximately 10 bags are needed. Total - 20, 000 rubles.
An alternative to the powder is Darus M liquid washing concentrate, which is diluted with water in a proportion of 1:10 or 1:15, depending on the nature of the contamination. The dirtier the part, the higher the concentration of detergent. As practice shows, about 10 liters of concentrate are spent on one machine during its repair. Refueling with the detergent composition of the installation is not one-time - the diluted liquid can be used for a rather long time, since in equipment that uses these compositions, as a rule, there is a special filter that can not only trap suspended dirt, but also separate oil from the washing liquid. The cost of the Darus M concentrate in a package of 20 liters is 2800 rubles.
Detergents containing special bacteria that break down dirt can also be found on the market. These compositions after use according to the instructions (!) May be drained into the sewer. However, everything related to this type of detergent is not widespread, since their use is prohibited at the legislative level. Consequently, the sale of funds is also illegal. All of the above applies to automatic washing.
For manual cleaning of parts in bathtubs, a detergent in the form of a cleaning fluid RM PC-BIO is offered, which after use can be drained into the sewer. Ready-to-use barrels are also available. To use them, you just need to lower the pump intake hose into the neck, which will feed the composition to the brush. I note that in modern sinks it is not recommended to use liquids such as kerosene, gasoline, diesel fuel, since they have a negative effect on the oil seals and rubber seals of the equipment, which are available both in the basket rotation mechanism and in the pump pumping the washing solution. Special detergent compositions do not have such an effect on rubber parts.
