I am sure that not only I had such a reaction to the “Aktion Sports” of the previous generation. A pointed nose bulging far ahead and eccentric headlights looked … umm … peculiar. The specific appearance clearly scared off buyers. It is good that the Koreans realized this and gave the modernized pickup a completely new “face”, an attractiveness surpassing the Aktion crossover of the same name.
The salon, at first glance, has not changed - the architecture (a good style, I must say!) Has remained the same. But everything is executed at a higher level. Finishing materials are richer, and where previously there was a gap in the place of the radio (it was not even offered for an extra charge), now an audio system with AUX and USB inputs has been installed. The dashboard freshened up, the steering wheel got the “music” control buttons. True, the steering wheel still does not have enough adjustment for the departure, and the angle setting has an excessively large step: the steering wheel either lies on its feet, or is pulled up.

I did not like the chairs either: the pillow is short, the back is clearly molded to fit very large uncles. I lacked support in the area of the shoulder blades. Another oddity is a too-tiny compartment for glasses. Mine did not fit into it, and yet they do not differ in gigantic dimensions. The glove compartment and door pockets are also small. Possible reproaches the car fights off with a roomy box in the armrest, cup holders and trays on the tunnel.
In general, this model is equipped not badly: climate control, power accessories, on-board computer, central locking, rain sensor, heated seats, chairs and even the rest areas of the wipers, plus the mentioned radio with control on a leather-wrapped steering wheel. But the equipment is not the richest.
Many similar-sized pickups are frankly cramped for second-row passengers. In the “San Yong”, the back is not so spacious, but quite bearable. Happen to go there, I will not be upset. In addition, there are air ducts for the legs (a rarity in this segment) and a niche covered with a net for small luggage. You can live.

The buyer will not have to puzzle over the choice of engine - the new Aktion Sports, as before, has only a 2-liter turbodiesel. But seriously refined. The compression ratio was reduced from 17.5: 1 to 16.5: 1, the power increased from 141 to 149 hp, and the increase in torque was more significant - it increased from 310 to 360 N.m. Moreover, it is available in a wider range.
But these are all numbers, and sensations are sometimes equally important. From the SanYong motor they are the most pleasant: it has become noticeably quieter to work. Vibrations and noises do not annoy the cabin even at idle. And the dynamics pleased. The car starts immediately, without a hitch. With a high-torque engine, acceleration is smooth, but assertive. A little distracted - and already exceeded the speed limit. I did not expect such a temperament from a two-ton frame pickup! In order not to run into a fine, he began to use cruise control outside the city (by the way, he had not been offered it before). Even at full load, the speaker did not get much worse. And profitability - too. On Moscow streets, the car ate 11 l / 100 km, and on the suburban was content with eight. Another trump card is the modern 6-speed automatic. In whatever mode he goes, he knows his business. And I have never even taken the opportunity to manually switch.

But the steering wheel is not informative. The effort does not correlate with the road conditions - it is always weightlessly light. In general, nobody took away the cargo essence from Aktion Sports. Delays in reactions, deep heels - this is excusable for a working machine. The car sways when driving with oncoming wagons, and after small irregularities it still wavers for a couple of seconds, like jelly. In larger pits, shaking is even stronger. There is nothing to be done - the continuous rear axle and noble habits are difficult to combine. True, under load, like on other pickups, the stroke becomes softer. But do not carry ballast all the time!
Nevertheless, for the week that I went to Aktion Sports, I began to consider him a faithful companion, able to turn his shoulder when help is needed. In addition to functionality, “SanYong” bribed a cozy cabin, a decent design, a cool powertrain. Yes, and at a price. I want to buy a pickup truck - Aktion Sports will be one of the first candidates.
