The first and second places are occupied by long-standing competitors - Nokian and Continental, which update their products almost every year. Prices (3, 700 rubles) are almost the same, but since the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 (in Russian version) is slightly better in terms of performance than the Continental ContiIceContact, the price / quality ratio of “Russian Finns” (3.9) is slightly more attractive than that of “Germans” "(4.0).

Another domestic product Michelin X-Ice North 2 is firmly in third place, although the model is no longer new. The price tag is slightly lower - 3300 rubles. Therefore, the price / quality ratio turned out to be a little tastier: 3.6.

The old Gislaved NordFrost 5 (3200 rubles) is fourth in value. However, in our tests, he, gaining 892 points, occupies the sixth position and in terms of price / quality ratio (3.6) stands on a par with Michelin. In our opinion, people buy this model more out of habit, taking into account the good reputation of their predecessors. And the real price should be even lower.

Next in the price rating is the Bridgestone Ice Cruiser 7000 (2900 rubles). The fresh model has very modest characteristics for our winter. Therefore, it occupies only the eighth position with a score of 829 points, although in terms of price / quality ratio of 3.5, it lies very close to the Michelin and Gislaved.

Apparently, our customers are willing to pay more for a well-promoted brand. However, many appreciate the increased hernial stability, which helps to confidently ride along the road pits. Our opinion is that these tires should be cheaper.

The products of Yokohama iceGUARD iG35 (2, 800 rubles) are traditionally slightly cheaper than Bridgestone, although they are almost as good as its characteristics (828 points and ninth in the final list). Accordingly, the price / quality ratio (3.4) is more attractive. We believe the price tag is again overpriced. Buyers reverently treat the Japanese brand, but on its tires it says: "Made in the Philippines." Another reason for popularity is the participation in the WTCC races.

Pirelli Winter Carving Edge for 2700 rubles. at a cost only in seventh place. But according to the test results, “Italians” scored 912 points and entered the top five in the rating of ZR. A very good result, and the price / quality ratio is less than that of all top tires - 3.0. We respect By the way, problems with the loss of spikes are a thing of the past.

Cheaper you can buy Korean Kumho I'ZEN KW22 and Russian Nordman 4 - 2400 rubles each. According to the test results, the “Russian” is clearly more attractive: 913 points and the fourth position, and therefore his price / quality ratio is 2.6.

Very interesting and profitable product.

Cordiant Sno-Max domestically developed even cheaper - 2200 rubles. The position in the test (852 points and seventh place) is worthy of respect - the model surpassed imported tires from eastern manufacturers. Value for money - 2.6.

The cheapest tires are Kama Irbis (or 505), they can be bought for less than 2000 rubles. a piece. In the test, they did not even reach 800 points, gaining only 776. You can’t name them last century - the model appeared six years ago, simultaneously with Gislaved NF 5, but its characteristics no longer correspond to the modern level.

I foresee the question: why have not the latest Kama Euro 518 and 519 models been tested? Alas, in the most popular winter dimension 175 / 65R14 they simply are not released, limiting themselves to the old model.

Together with "Gislaved" was born in 2006.

On ice, the grip properties - both transverse and longitudinal - are the weakest. In the snow, the longitudinal grip is simply none. And the cross is very weak. Acceleration is problematic, it is necessary not to break the wheels into slipping, otherwise it is impossible to gain speed.

On a snowy road, you should drive slowly: the car is scouring heavily on bumps, trying to go to the side of the road, in deeper snow.

The steering wheel is empty and uninformative, as in computer racing. In turns, the car rides as she pleases, as if the steering wheel is disconnected from the wheels. It can slide out or break into a skid and end the movement with a U-turn. The situation is aggravated by significant delays, enormous steering angles and extended slip.

Driving through the snowdrifts is only possible pull-pull, without stopping. Trying to start leads to self-instillation. Reversing moves uncertainly.

They swim on the asphalt, requiring constant adjustment. They slow down very slightly on wet, on dry medium. It’s better to forget about comfort. Loud noises, jolts and vibrations even where the road looks smooth.

Fuel consumption at a speed of 60 km / h is above average, 90 is increased. The projection of the spikes and its growth rate are within acceptable limits. There are no lost spikes.

+ Average braking properties on snow and dry asphalt.

- The weakest braking performance on ice, acceleration and lateral grip on ice and snow. Weak braking properties on wet asphalt. Problem handling on slippery surfaces, poor directional stability on a snowy road. Loud noise, very hard tires, increased fuel consumption.

776 points

Allowed unless well-cleaned roads.

They appeared in 2008, a year later they began to be sold in Russia.

Longitudinal traction on an icy road is weak, transverse - medium. Acceleration in the snow is satisfactory, braking and lateral grip are weak.

It’s better to start off in a whisper, while accelerating, slight slipping is permissible. In a snowy straight line go smoothly, without comment. In the snow, the behavior of the car is not very clear - drift out or skidding and going inside. The transition to the slip is sharp and unexpected. Slides are long.

On ice, the behavior is more stable: only skidding, but very sharp. In deep snow, they fall off when starting off and tend to burrow. It’s better to pull in pulls, to move - with a slight slipping. You should not get involved in driving on the virgin soil: you can call in from where you cannot get out from behind in reverse.

They keep well on the asphalt line, however, when adjusting the direction, the delays in the reactions are strained.

Braking properties on wet asphalt are average, and on dry - the worst. They buzz and howl strongly, shake significantly on irregularities.

Low fuel consumption at any speed. The appearance of the spikes and its change within normal limits.

+ Low fuel consumption, good directional stability on a snowy road, satisfactory - on the pavement, good smoothness.

- Mediocre braking properties on ice and snow, lateral grip on snow. The weakest braking performance on dry pavement. Difficult handling on the winter road, increased noise, poor cross-country ability.

823 points

Suitable for peeled, partially snowy and slightly icy roads.

On ice, the longitudinal adhesion properties are very weak, the transverse ones are medium.

On snow, the balance is slightly different: acceleration and lateral properties are satisfactory, and braking is poor. You can start the car with a slip, then it is better to stop it, as it is possible to gain speed only by moving the pull-pull.

On a snowy road, the car is scouring heavily, striving to leave the trajectory in the direction of deep snow. In corners, the behavior is clearer, the steering wheel is tight, understandable, the initial reactions are immediate. However, the speed on any surface is limited by skidding. They don’t like deep snow, they hardly move forward, it is unlikely to get out of the snow in reverse.

You should not hurry on the asphalt either: yawing that requires constant adjustment, large steering angles and “rubber” stabilization with damping steering of the rear axle in one direction or the other.

On a dry road they stop very well, on a wet braking distance the largest. Comfort leaves much to be desired - they shake it strongly on any irregularities. They make noise even on ice and snow.

Fuel consumption is low.

The spikes, in our opinion, are too deep, this partially explains the low grip on ice. The growth rate of the spikes is normal, there are no lost ones.

+ Good braking on dry pavement, moderate fuel consumption.

- Mediocre braking properties on snow and ice, the weakest acceleration on ice and braking on wet asphalt. Low directional stability on a snowy road and asphalt, poor passability.

828 points

For peeled, partially snowy and slightly icy roads.

Like Yokohama, the latest model.

They have one year of birth, 2010, but Bridgestone has only been sold in Russia since 2011.

On ice, very uncertain acceleration, satisfactory braking properties and lateral grip. On snow, the longitudinal grip is frankly weak. On acceleration, they lose speed at the slightest slippage, into which they break very unexpectedly. They walk along the snowy road exactly, there are no comments on directional stability. Hurrying in turns on a winter road is useless: on ice, speed is limited by skidding, which comes suddenly and requires immediate adjustment.

In the snow, the car straightens the trajectory, and the outward bend glides for too long. In the snowdrifts, the movement is not confident enough, it is better to move off without slipping, they are selected quite confidently in reverse.

They swim a little on the asphalt, tangible delays and low information content interfere with the direction adjustment. They brake well both on dry and wet asphalt.

They make a lot of noise, an unpleasant hum and howl emit on asphalt and even on ice. Any road irregularities respond with excessive vertical accelerations.

Fuel consumption increased at any speed.

The size of the spikes and the rate of change are normal. There are no lost spikes.

+ Good braking on dry and wet asphalt, directional stability on a snowy road.

- Weak braking performance in the snow, acceleration in snow and ice, lateral grip in the snow. Increased fuel consumption, loud noise, difficult handling on a winter road.

829 points

For peeled, partially snowy and slightly icy roads.

The debut took place in 2008.

On an icy road amid medium acceleration and lateral grip they slow down mediocre. In the snow, the alignment is more logical: weak acceleration and satisfactory lateral grip quite get along with good braking. Decent acceleration is obtained only by pulling.

On a snowy straight line scour from side to side. It is quite difficult to taxi, since feedback is not informative. In fast corners, speed is limited by drift. Moreover, the slip out is delayed, the clutch recovery has to wait a long time. They make their way through the snowdrifts confidently, move in any modes, and do not require a pull-up ride.

It is possible to drive fast along the asphalt only with great care - swimming within the lane forces the driver to constantly adjust the course. Significant angles of rotation of the steering wheel and its lack of information are in the way. Braking on dry and wet surfaces is good, the results are comparable to those shown by Nokian. They do not differ in comfort: they make a loud noise, thump on irregularities, voice the change of coverage.

You will have to forget about fuel economy. Fuel consumption at a speed of 60 km / h is average, at 90 - increased. The appearance of the spikes is within normal limits, and its growth rate is also. There are no lost spikes.

+ Good braking on snow, on dry and wet asphalt, cross-country ability.

- Mediocre braking performance on ice, acceleration on snow, lateral grip on ice. Increased fuel consumption at 90 km / h, low directional stability on asphalt.

852 points

For snowy, slightly icy and cleared roads.

Another old man - the model was created back in 2006, since then it has been sold in Russia.

This winter the mixture was updated. Longitudinal traction on snow and ice is average, but lateral on snow is very good, and on ice the best. Acceleration should be on the verge of slipping - it’s more efficient.

They walk straight along the snowy road, but the “zero” on the steering wheel is empty, the information content is not enough. Handling notes are minor. There are no complaints about the initial phase of rotation, but on the arc the speed is limited either by drift or by drift - this ambiguity is noticeably annoying. In deep snow they require minimal slippage; Back picks are easy.

On the pavement, the course is smooth, without comment, but also without frills. In brake disciplines, the best are both on dry coating and on wet. Comfort is standard, although there is a howl on asphalt and heavy snow.

Fuel consumption is above average at any speed. The performance of the spikes is normal, during the tests the average value grew within the acceptable range, that is, the quality of the studs is good. But during the tests, the tires lost five spikes. Only two fell out last year. The trend is alarming: before, “Gislavaed” did not notice this.

+ The best braking properties on dry and wet asphalt, the best lateral grip on ice, very good - on snow. High level of comfort, good directional stability on any road.

- Average acceleration on any surface, fuel consumption at any speed is above average, minor comments on handling, loss of five spikes.

892 points

They will show their best properties primarily on well-cleared roads, but do not save on icy and snowy roads.

Created in 2008, since then they have been repeatedly upgraded. Last time - at the beginning of this year.

The braking properties on snow are the best, on ice mediocre, and the lateral grip on that and on other coatings is also average. Acceleration is good, and on any surface. However, it is effective only when riding a pull.

On a snow-covered straight tire, they are surprised by a clear course, sensitive asphalt reactions and small steering angle when adjusting the direction. Any turns you take with pleasure - a dense, informative steering wheel and immediate reactions, as well as understeer close to neutral, help to understand the car. Deep snow is best overcome. When starting off, the tires fail slightly, although they do not show a tendency to self-burying. In reverse, the car is confidently selected.

On the pavement the same clear course as on summer tires. Tight steering wheel and small angles for course correction. Braking on wet surfaces is average, on dry - frankly poor. Tires sound the change of coating and rough asphalt, carefully transmit the tremors from bumps.

Fuel consumption is modest.

The performance of the spikes is normal, the change in its size is not critical. Only one spike is lost.

+ Better braking on snow, good acceleration on ice and snow, lateral grip on ice. Modest fuel consumption, excellent handling and directional stability on any road.

- Weak braking properties on dry roads. Minor notes on deep snow patency and comfort.

912 points

They will show their best qualities in road modes on any winter roads.

The model was created in 2009, since then it has been sold in Russia. The mix has been updated this winter.

In terms of grip, the tires are similar to Michelin tires. They are good on ice and snow due to their longitudinal and transverse coupling properties, and on the rearrangement they were even faster than their forefather Nokian. They swim a little on a straight line, requiring constant adjustment of the direction - they are kept in tension. In fast corners, it’s easier to control the gas with the car than the steering wheel: they respond to the discharge by screwing in, while adding, they increase the radius.

Snow virgin soil is overcome without problems. Reversing confidently selected from any snowdrift. Feature: they prefer soft, non-slip starting off. And on the go you can trample the gas as much as you like, it even helps. More gas - better move!

The asphalt line has the same features as the snowy road. Slight deviations from a given direction, requiring constant steering. Braking on wet asphalt is good, on dry - average. The noise level is higher than that of more expensive relatives, and the ride is the same.

Fuel consumption is modest at any speed.

The protrusion of the spikes and the change in its size is normal. During the tests, the tires lost three spikes from the front tires, but this is hardly critical.

+ Good braking performance on snow, ice and wet asphalt, acceleration on snow and ice. Excellent lateral grip on snow and cross-country ability. Good handling on the winter road, modest fuel consumption.

- Minor comments on directional stability on a snowy road and asphalt, noise.

913 points

Suitable for any winter roads and winter terrain.

They appeared in 2009. From the same moment on the Russian market.

They have a good balance of grip. Acceleration on a winter road is confident in all modes, slipping during speeding does not reduce its effectiveness.

The snowy road goes smoothly, stably, not paying attention to the thickness of the snow cover, bumps and transverse slopes, they are sensitive to the correction of direction. Cornering behavior on snow and ice is understandable and well predicted; slight understeer (mild demolition of the front end), coupled with immediate reactions to steering.

They feel confident in deep snow, prefer slipping in motion. Even if the car creeps on the belly, in most cases it will still be taken out.

On the pavement do not save. At a good speed, they are straight in a straight line, respond without delay to course corrections. Braking on dry and wet roads is good. Are comfortable. Quite quiet, except that they are slightly dissonant on asphalt of different quality. There are no complaints about the smooth running.

Fuel consumption is modest.

The spike protrusion is normal, its growth rate during the testing is insignificant. This indicates a good quality studding.

+ Good braking and acceleration, lateral grip on snow and ice. Low fuel consumption.

- Not marked.

921 points

They will give confidence on any winter roads and winter impassability.

They saw the light in 2010 and immediately appeared in Russia. In the coming year, the rubber and stud design were updated.

In terms of exemplary grip properties, they occupy a leading position in all exercises on ice and snow, with the exception of the ice circle. They go along the winter road not quite smoothly, they significantly pull the car into deeper snow, noticeably slide on the transverse slopes. The steering wheel is not informative enough. Managed well, but with some features. In sharp bends, speed is limited by the drift of the front axle, and in gently sloping, faster bends they tend to sharply skid, which is better to fend off at small angles, preventing development.

They are not afraid of snowdrifts, but they require a certain driving style: they do not like intense slipping, preferring the movement of pretensioners. Not always able to rescue the car from the snow trap in reverse.

On the pavement, the course is kept without comment. They brake very well on dry and wet roads, letting forward only the related Gislaved. They are comfortable - they do not differ in increased noise. But significantly shake the car on bumps.

Fuel consumption is modest, along with Michelin, Nordman, Pirelli and Yokohama.

During the tests, the spike performance has not changed, the studding is high-quality.

+ The best braking and acceleration in snow and ice, lateral grip in the snow. Very good lateral grip on ice and braking on dry and wet asphalt.

- Minor comments on directional stability on a snowy road, on patency in deep snow and a smooth ride.

927 points

Like on any winter roads.

The debut took place in 2008, since 2009 - in Russia. At the beginning of this year, they were once again modernized in terms of rubber composition and stud geometry.

Coupling properties are very well balanced. Longitudinal on ice and snow - almost the best. Cross on ice - very good, better only at "Gislavaeda". In the snow - above average. They walk along the snowy road smoothly, without comment, sensitively react to the adjustment of the direction. To slightly improve the information content on the steering wheel - and you can put nine points.

In the corners, the predetermined trajectory is clearly prescribed by the front wheels, and the rear ones cling to the road a little worse, causing a slight oversteer. But just add a little gas, and the car is screwed into a turn of any curvature. They are not afraid of deep snow, they easily maneuver. If the car rested against the bumper in an insurmountable snowdrift, getting out would not be difficult.

On the pavement, too, do not pass. At high speed they go smoothly, slow down the dry land and wet well. There are no comments on acoustic comfort and ride.

In terms of fuel efficiency, they maintain a leading position both at 90 and at 60 km / h.

The spikes are close to the limits of reason. Not a single spike fell out.

+ Excellent braking performance and the best acceleration in snow and ice, high lateral grip in the snow and throughput. Good directional stability on any winter road. High level of comfort, economical.

- Not marked.

944 points

They will add confidence and drive on any winter roads. Help save fuel at any speed.

MEANS OF EXISTENCE

Top Five is the top five tire companies in terms of annual cash flow.

Bridgestone Corporation and Michelin are constantly fighting for leadership. In 2011, the Japanese company was slightly ahead of the French company, for 2012 there is no data yet.

Bridgestone owns the Firestone brand, Michelin owns the American BF Goodrich, the French Kleber, the Polish Kormoran and the Serbian Tigar, as well as the North American branch of Uniroyal.

The first three closes the American Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. It includes Polish Debica, German Fulda, American Kelly and Slovenian Sava.

The fourth position is taken by Continental concern along with such well-known companies in Russia as the Swedish Gislaved, Czech Barum and European (German) Uniroyal. Here is the American General Tire, British Viking and Austrian Semperit.

Closes the top five Pirelli Tire SpA This company has recently become very close to the Russians, since now, together with Rostekhnologii, it owns Amtela's plants in Voronezh and Kirov.
