A similar car with the same index on the basis of Kalina (ZR, 2011, No. 10) did not go into series. AvtoVAZ stopped producing the eponymous sedan, and it was from this, the cheapest body of the family, that the cabin for VIS was cut out. But, since the creators foresaw a change in the lineup at the design stage, the conversion was not particularly difficult.
They plan to produce the car with several bodies: an onboard one with a removable plastic hood and three types of vans - isothermal (with a wall thickness of 30, 40 or 50 mm), a refrigerator and the so-called manufactured goods. The latest version has an elongated version - the outer length of the cargo section is 2200 mm versus 1900 mm for the standard one. She got us for a test drive.

You can get into the body from different sides - through a two-wing rear door or through a single-wing side door on the right side. All of them open up to the stop and are held by reliable clamps located on the walls of the van.
Driving at ease - no wonder the designers of VIS-AUTO consider the cabin the most spacious. On the go, the truck is, of course, tougher than the Grants, but it is very indifferent to road bumps and does not show a tendency to vertical buildup even on a large wave. The higher the speed, the smoother the car goes, sometimes resembling an arrow fired from a bow. VIS retained almost easy handling, but this only applies to an empty car. Obviously, with a heavy load, the car will not be frisky.

VIS was founded in 1991, first as an enterprise for the production of components of VAZ automobiles. The first car, a pickup based on the Quartet, was built in 1993. Subsequently, more than two thousand such pickups were made. The original semi-frame design - with a spring-docked body on a spring suspension - appeared in 1997. At the beginning of 2009, car production was allocated to a separate PSA enterprise, VIS-AUTO, which to this day produces trucks with a carrying capacity of more than half a ton based on front-wheel drive (VIS-2347) and all-wheel drive (VIS-2346) VAZ models. From the day of its foundation to the end of the first quarter of this year, 38, 872 vehicles rolled out of the gates of the enterprise.
