We install child seats as recommended by manufacturers of restraint systems and cars. The cradle of group 0+ is positioned against the movement, and the seat for older children (in the test the representative of group I) is facing forward. At the same time, we evaluate how convenient it is to install seats in the car: is there a spacious interior, is the door wide open, is there a large doorway, is there a high threshold. We find out if there are any difficulties in fixing the holding devices - is there enough belt, is it easy to snap it into the lock, is it convenient to use the “isofix”.

We check whether the manufacturers have provided a passenger airbag switch. In addition, the car receives additional points for fixing “Isofix” and “Top Tether” (Top Tether). Nearly half of the cars from our fleet have a front passenger airbag that cannot be switched off, which means that you cannot place a chair with a child here. Nevertheless, in all the cars we “measured” the front part and the back with child seats. So we equalize the chances of the participants - for a non-disconnected airbag, cars will receive only a penalty point. Surely, after all, there are motorists who can turn off the pillow in one way or another - they will have our information by the way.

The mounting system “top teaser” fixes the upper part of the child seat with an additional belt, fastened to the eye in the trunk or on the back of the seat. It serves as an addition to the “isofix” and prevents the chair from turning over upon impact.

WHERE IT IS BETTER TO PLANT A CHILD
The rules of the road (paragraph 22.9) do not prohibit the transport of children in the front seat. One condition - the child must be seated in a child seat. However, remember that the risk of injury in an accident is higher for those seated in front. And the safest, according to statistics, places are in the back seat, in the middle or behind the driver. Therefore, unnecessarily do not put the children forward. By the way, not everywhere the rules for transporting children are as liberal as in Russia. In Germany, children under 12 years of age are forbidden to transport in front, and in Israel, indulgence is made only for babies in cradles. Therefore, going with your family on a trip, find out what the rules of your chosen country prescribe.
