In early 2011, the bestseller survived facelift. A year later, the hands of the Japanese reached the "heart": a 1.5-liter power unit was replaced by a 1.6-liter. Is the car better?
One and a half liter 109-strong Mitsubishi-Lancer is in the editorial park. He served as the starting point for the answer to the question. An additional 100 cubes of working volume made it possible to raise power to 117 hp, and torque to 154 N.m against 143. The increase in the latter is especially noticeable in the city: the car is loyal to sloppy operation of the clutch pedal, and engine elasticity has increased markedly. You can now switch less often - the car confidently, albeit not headlong, accelerates in any gear from 2000 rpm. Wow! The difference is also noticeable on the highway: the acceleration of the 1.6-liter “Lancer” is more assertive and confident. Has fuel consumption changed? The manufacturer claims a decrease in all modes by 0.2 liters. For three days of my trips mainly around the city, the average consumption was 8.2 liters. Not so much.

Together with the motor, the chassis setting was clearly changed. "Lancer" has become noticeably softer, and a leisurely city ride on it - more comfortable. The pendants perfectly filter the little things on the road, and the speed bumps can be safely driven - envious of some crossovers. But on the track, where our editorial car demonstrates quick and accurate reactions, the updated Mitsubishi heels, and on the road waves became inclined to longitudinal buildup. In this sense, the car lost its sportiness, but gained comfort.
Has matured? Or maybe aged? I would choose the old, more rigid "Lancer", but with a new engine. However, I would rather pass by: on a test machine for 679, 000 rubles (it seems not very expensive), neither side airbags, nor dynamic stabilization systems. This system is not in the list of options. In my opinion, it is no less important than 100 added cubes. So much for growing up …
