Sambo is self-defense without weapons. The task of the car, which attracted the hijacker, is to hold out in this battle for as long as possible. But they teach this art in different ways. Some rely on comprehensive protection of the car with products of different brands, others rely on security systems, others believe that nothing has been invented better than non-standard electronic protection. Which is preferable? Having left a saving phrase like “Everyone chooses for himself!”, We will briefly talk about the features of each of the schools. Some basic solutions offered by each master are shown in our figure.
INTEGRATED PROTECTION
Here the philosophy is this: providing complete comprehensive protection of the car from theft. The approximate cost of the work is from 7 to 14% of the price of the car. What is interesting about her? The main thing is that the masters predict the scenarios of a possible attempt on a car and erect a sort of multi-level “mine” field around it: at least something will work. Well, electronic alarms, immobilizers, tags, DVRs, sirens - this, in general, is understandable. But in addition, access to the cabin is blocked by additional door locks with solid crossbars. I liked the fact that here they are fighting against thieves, advanced in terms of electronic hacks: the car’s full-time controller is mechanically protected from replacement, and the diagnostic connector, which many cars almost instantly surrender without a fight, is replaced by another, completely different design.

THE ART OF ONE PUNCH
If other schools profess comprehensive protection, then the masters of this believe that one worked out blow is enough for self-defense. This technique can be considered a competent electronic blocking of a vital chain (or chains), performed individually, not like others. The logic is simple: far from every specialist will be able to calculate and bypass such a lock, and should not protect the anti-theft from various robberies and various kinds of tow trucks. You can’t calculate them by sound and size, and hiding inside a thick tourniquet is not a problem for them. Which chains to block is decided individually: from crankshaft and camshaft position sensors to automatic gearbox solenoids. It is curious that for some reason the customers are afraid of the last solution: they say, do whatever you want with the engine, but it’s better not to touch the box.

Such systems are usually suitable for installation on any car, and their cost, taking into account the work, ranges from 30, 000 to 50, 000 rubles.
At the first moment, the task seems obviously a failure: an uneducated installer will ruin all the ideas of the developer. However, there is nothing to turn to bad - there are authorized points! And a well-thought-out system of specially designed components of one brand is easier to install, and it will cost less than a “hodgepodge”. The main signaling unit with dialogue authorization and a CAN interface, an immobilizer (also with dialogue authorization), a GPS / GSM search and security device, miniature search beacons (battery life - up to two years!), Control of an additional engine compartment lock, free vehicle monitoring services - all this is usually part of the system, the cost of which falls within the indicated limits.
