The calculated damage caused by the extortioners is, as we have already reported, at least 30 million rubles. And this is only for manufacturing companies whose markings were falsified by offenders. It is impossible to calculate what losses car owners will suffer as a result of breakdowns and premature wear of parts.
Some details of this case were disclosed to ZR. RU readers by the head of the press service of the Main Directorate for Economic Security and Anti-Corruption (GUEBiPK) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, police colonel Andrei Pilipchuk.
The group of businessmen was operating for a very long time. Under various kinds of disguises in the documentation, smugglers imported counterfeit spare parts into one of the construction market hangars located on the Kiev highway near the Moscow Ring Road. Goods delivered in bulk (cooling radiators, gas pumps, air, oil filters, and much more), workers employed mainly from among Central Asian guest workers, were packaged.
The hangar also served as a transshipment base: from here, spare parts were transported to the Moscow region, as well as to other regions.
It is unlikely that the retailers who purchased the fakes did not understand with whom and what they were dealing with. The packaging is of disgusting quality, even its stickers and holograms (of course, fake) did not help out its unsightly appearance, and the texts on the wrappers, apparently, were made by the same loaders. What didn’t fit in with the image of the logos of the famous brands - VAZ, KamAZ, GAZ, BOSCH, LUK and other components manufacturing companies, car manufacturers and tractor factories that are popular on our market.

The scope and appetite of counterfeiters is also evidenced by the fact that in the advertising that they dared to place, they promised partners to supply about 1000 items.
Meanwhile, representatives of the copyright companies that took part in the preliminary investigation concluded that the products offered were of very low quality.
During interrogations, the detained fraudsters said that the production of fake spare parts was established in China, at 500 square meters. m of production space employs approximately five thousand people. The figures are to be verified: if the advertisement is not lying, the volume of deliveries offered in it is too large for production capacities and the number of workers, unless the underground enterprise uses ultramodern equipment. But if so, then why is the disgusting quality of products?
We must expect that criminals will be strict - to irrevocably close a fairly powerful source of counterfeit goods. Colonel Pilipchuk does not exclude the possibility that after all the circumstances of the case in the country have been clarified, our investigators will invite the PRC security forces to cooperate. The joint action may serve as a testing ground for subsequent joint actions: there are a lot of low-grade Chinese goods on the secondary market of the Russian Federation.
The actions of the detained smugglers can be qualified under Article 180 of Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation as acts “committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy or organized group”, which entails imprisonment for up to six years with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.
However, we buyers should be vigilant and take a closer look at what we take. And do not chase cheapness - good cheap does not happen!
