The liquid "autonomy" warms up the FIRST ENGINE, and then directs warm air to the salon The liquid "autonomy" warms up the FIRST ENGINE, and then directs warm air to the salon
You won’t take the garage with you
Many do not even think about him. Why, if in the base or for a fee you can get heated mirrors and seats, a heating pad for the windshield and even the steering wheel. And the most common argument: why do I need "autonomy" - I have a warm garage.
Only the "heating pads" begin to work after you have sat down in the ice salon and started the frozen engine. More precisely, if launched. Indeed, in our gasoline there are metal-containing additives that settle on spark plugs and make it difficult to start a cold engine. In addition, landing in an ice chair after a sauna or a ski trip is fraught with inflammation or radiculitis.
And you won’t take the garage with you on a trip, and in the cold of minus 20 with the wind, the engine and the interior get cold in 2-3 hours. Or, for example, molded wet snow during the day, it froze by evening. You leave the office, restaurant or theater, but instead of getting into the car and driving, you have to take a scraper and release the glass from the ice armor.
Another important issue is security. According to statistics, in the winter the greatest number of accidents occurs in the first 15 minutes of the trip, when the windows are still frosty, and the reactions and movements of the driver are chained with cold and voluminous clothing.
If the car is equipped with an autonomous engine and interior heater, you will sit in a warm car, take off your outer clothing, easily start the warmed up engine, and if the ice remains on the windows, it will only have to be brushed off. Moreover, the machine will be warmed up at any time convenient for you.
If your travel schedule is unpredictable, the simplest REMOTE CONTROLLER seems like an acceptable solution
8:00 and 18:00
Now the market of "autonomous vehicles" is divided by two well-known German companies - Webasto and Ebershpeher. By design, functionality and price, their products are almost the same. At the same time, both companies offer both air and liquid heaters.
The first only warm the air in the cabin. They are designed for a long time of continuous operation and are characterized by minimal fuel consumption and battery energy. Therefore intended for specific purposes. For example, to maintain a microclimate in the cabin during long-term parking or in the back of a van when transporting heat-loving goods.
For private use, liquid heaters are more suitable. They first warm up the antifreeze in the engine (respectively, the engine itself), and then automatically open the “stove” circuit and turn on the fan, as a result of which the interior begins to warm up. The time of continuous operation of the liquid "autonomies" is from 10 to 60 minutes.
In the basic configuration, liquid heaters are equipped with a programmable timer, with which the on, off and operating times are set. This option is suitable for a permanent schedule. For example, you leave for work every day at 8:00 and leave the office at 18:00. Accordingly, you program “autonomy” for a half-hour inclusion at 7:30 and at 17:30.
If the travel schedule is unpredictable, you can order one of the remote control options. From simple on / off with setting the mode and operating time to fully automatic - when the owner sets the temperature in the cabin and the time of departure, and the system decides when to turn on and in what mode to work in order to prepare the car for the trip.
In the basic configuration, a STATIONARY TIMER is proposed, with the help of which the time and operating mode of the heater are programmed. This option is suitable for a stable travel schedule. Economical, useful not only in winter
There are also disadvantages - the heater consumes a lot of fuel and during operation it can land the battery. As for the flow ("autonomous" are fed from the same tank as the engine), the situation is as follows. The power of the heater depends on the size of the engine and the interior of your car. For cars with engines up to 2 liters, a 4-kilowatt unit is enough. Middle-class cars will need a 5-kilowatt system. For large station wagons or all-terrain vehicles, 9 kW is already required, for example, Webasto-Thermo-90. Fuel consumption, depending on power, is 0.5–0.7 l / h, which is not much in itself. If in 30 minutes of operation the “autonomous car” burns 300-400 grams, you won’t even feel it. Just keep in mind: a warmed-up engine consumes less fuel than a cold one in the first minutes after the start, so the total consumption will in no way be greater than without a heater.
As for the discharge of the battery, "autonomous" are equipped with a battery diagnostic system. If there may not be enough energy to start the engine, the system simply will not turn on. In addition, the operation of the heater with subsequent easy start requires less energy than just starting a cold engine. Therefore, if the "autonomy" does not turn on, fearing for the state of the battery, then the engine in any case will not start on its own.
An autonomous heater extends the life of the motor, since its greatest wear is on a cold start and the first minutes of operation. However, this issue is not particularly worrying for the first owners. It is much more important for them that "autonomy" can be useful not only in cold weather.
In the summer, after a long stay in the sun, the salon turns into a sauna, and the steering wheel and seats (especially leather) are heated. Air conditioning with the stuffiness, of course, cope. But this will take several minutes, during which you have time to get wet. “Autonomus” can be equipped with a summer mode for a small surcharge - so that it turns on only one fan and ventilates the cabin by a given time.
Liquid heater boiler
The main thing is for a liquid heater boiler to find a PLACE UNDER THE HOOD. For example, on the “Audi-A6” of the previous generation, “autonomy” could be obtained from the conveyor with all engines except “2.7-biturbo” - precisely because of the tightness of the engine compartment, the main thing is that there should be a PLACE FOR the boiler of a liquid heater HOOD. Not so expensive
The main reason for the limited demand for "autonomy" is the high price. Depending on the power and control method, this is 45–110 thousand rubles. But if you focus on the simplest remote control for a flexible travel schedule (this is the best solution), you get 60–80 thousand. In principle, the pleasure is not cheap. For cars like the Daewoo Nexia or Renault Logan, luxury is not permissible at all. But the more expensive your car, the more profitable the heater becomes.
Firstly, when installing "autonomous" you can save on heating the seats and the windshield. Secondly, the cost of an autonomous heater is partially returned. Even if none of the buyers appreciates this benefit in banknotes, the “autonomy” can be removed and installed on a new car. But if your car is not the cheapest and is in good condition, when reselling for a heater, you can safely ask for the extra 30 thousand.
Do not be afraid, guarantees will not be denied
Autonomous heaters, as a rule, are installed in authorized centers Webasto and Ebershpeher. And it happens that car dealers threaten the owners with the loss of warranty for unauthorized installation of additional equipment. According to Russian law, such threats are nothing more than a violation of consumer rights. If the equipment itself is certified by Rosstandart, and the authority of the installer is confirmed by the manufacturer of this equipment, no one has the right to deprive you of a guarantee.
Therefore, in the authorized centers "Webasto" and "Ebershpeher" you can safely install the heater. But recently, official car dealers have been increasingly tackling the installation of "autonomous vehicles". This is even preferable because their installers know better than anyone else the features of their machines.
The only question is price. Dealers sometimes tear three skins for their services, so installing heaters for them, as a rule, is more expensive than in the centers "Webasto" and "Ebershpeher." However, some offer comparable prices.
