For private use, liquid heaters are more suitable. They first warm up the antifreeze in the engine (respectively, the engine itself), and then automatically open the “stove” circuit and turn on the fan, as a result of which the interior begins to warm up. The time of continuous operation of the liquid "autonomies" is from 10 to 60 minutes.
In the basic configuration, liquid heaters are equipped with a programmable timer, with which the on, off and operating times are set. This option is suitable for a permanent schedule. For example, you leave for work every day at 8:00 and leave the office at 18:00. Accordingly, you program “autonomy” for a half-hour inclusion at 7:30 and at 17:30.

If in 30 minutes of operation the “autonomous car” burns 300-400 grams, you won’t even feel it. Just keep in mind: a warmed-up engine consumes less fuel than a cold one in the first minutes after the start, so the total consumption will in no way be greater than without a heater.
As for the discharge of the battery, "autonomous" are equipped with a battery diagnostic system. If there may not be enough energy to start the engine, the system simply will not turn on. In addition, the operation of the heater with subsequent easy start requires less energy than just starting a cold engine. Therefore, if the "autonomy" does not turn on, fearing for the state of the battery, then the engine in any case will not start on its own.
An autonomous heater extends the life of the motor, since its greatest wear is on a cold start and the first minutes of operation. However, this issue is not particularly worrying for the first owners. It is much more important for them that "autonomy" can be useful not only in cold weather.
In the summer, after a long stay in the sun, the salon turns into a sauna, and the steering wheel and seats (especially leather) are heated. Air conditioning with the stuffiness, of course, cope. But this will take several minutes, during which you have time to get wet. “Autonomus” can be equipped with a summer mode for a small surcharge - so that it turns on only one fan and ventilates the cabin by a given time.

For cars like the Daewoo Nexia or Renault Logan, luxury is not permissible at all. But the more expensive your car, the more profitable the heater becomes.

Even if none of the buyers appreciates this benefit in banknotes, the “autonomy” can be removed and installed on a new car. Autonomous heaters, as a rule, are installed in authorized centers Webasto and Ebershpeher. And it happens that car dealers threaten the owners with the loss of warranty for unauthorized installation of additional equipment. According to Russian law, such threats are nothing more than a violation of consumer rights. If the equipment itself is certified by Rosstandart, and the authority of the installer is confirmed by the manufacturer of this equipment, no one has the right to deprive you of a guarantee.
Therefore, in the authorized centers "Webasto" and "Ebershpeher" you can safely install the heater. But recently, official car dealers have been increasingly tackling the installation of "autonomous vehicles". This is even preferable because their installers know better than anyone else the features of their machines.
The only question is price. Dealers sometimes tear three skins for their services, so installing heaters for them, as a rule, is more expensive than in the centers "Webasto" and "Ebershpeher." However, some offer comparable prices.
