Both vans have the "Grand" prefix, hinting at the extraordinary abilities of these models. Both the Citroen and the Ford are ready to take on board a family of seven. If you need to carry a large load, the cabin is easy to transform with one movement of the hand. The second and third rows of chairs hide on the floor, forming an impressive space for luggage. Citroën in this case has 1951 liters of usable volume, while Ford has 1706 liters.
The Citroen also has a five-seat version. There is no word "Grand" in its name, and it is 120 mm shorter. But Ford has recently stopped selling five-seater C-MAX in Russia. Citroen has envisioned two transmissions for the Grand C4 Picasso - a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed robotic. Ford has prepared one more: the Grand S-MAX has two mechanical gearboxes (5- and 6-speed) and a 6-speed automatic.
Three gasoline engines are offered for the Grand C4 Picasso - with power of 120, 150 and 155 hp. And Ford, in addition to three gasoline engines (125, 150 and 182 hp) has a 140 kW diesel unit. And in the matter of choosing engines, Ford outperformed the Frenchman. But the manufacturers agreed on the number of possible configurations: both have two.

The base "Grand S-MAX" is equipped with one of three engines. The initial cost of 799, 000 rubles implies a 1.6-liter gasoline for 125 hp, which is paired with a 5-speed manual. A more powerful engine (150 hp) already with a 6-speed manual will cost 60, 000 rubles more. A 6-speed automatic is offered only with a 140-horsepower diesel engine. The lack of a combination of “gasoline + automatic transmission” is a minus for the Russian market, where the love for such a tandem is still very strong.
The initial equipment of Ford includes six airbags, an air conditioner, a stabilization system, an anti-lock braking system, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, and a few other useful things like adjusting the lumbar support and the height of the driver's seat. You cannot call the rich set. However, having thrown 21, 400 rubles, you can order the Comfort package, which includes dual-zone climate control, a rain sensor, adjustable instrument panel illumination, headlight washers and fog lights. Thus, the Trend comes close to the Titanium, which is a notch. So is it worth it to pay almost 100, 000 rubles? In our opinion, no.

The Titanium design adds 16-inch alloy wheels (versus steel in the Trend), a rain sensor, front fog lights with chrome decor, dual-zone climate control, a system for assisting when starting uphill, starting the engine without a key and more. If your family loves a fast ride, take the Ford in the Titanium configuration with an 182-horsepower engine. In all other cases, the Trend version with a more reasonable price tag looks preferable.

The list of options in the basic version will be envied by many. This includes cruise control, fog lights, heated front seats, folding tables in the backs of the seats, separate climate control, mini fridge, front and rear power windows. In addition, the Citroen, as befits a family car, is crammed with security systems. There is an assistant when starting uphill, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution system, stabilization system, rear and front side curtains.

Lists of optional equipment look impressive. Ford prefers to implement options in packages, Citroën offers equipment individually. Both manufacturers agree that the opportunity to choose the color of the car body must be paid.
