Tuning

Japanese Boscozok lovers tune the old Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi. Our loved - VAZ "classic". Particularly honorable was the possession of cars made before the collapse of the USSR. So, for example, Oleg Efremov got a VAZ-21013, released in 1984. We call it for simplicity "penny." The condition was not very good, to put it mildly, so the first thing Oleg had to change was almost all the body parts, with the exception of the hood and roof. Naturally, this process was followed by a complete coloring … If so, there was no sense in maintaining authenticity (that is, preserving the original vehicle equipment). In addition, Oleg sought to give originality to his vehicle. All these considerations came together, which ultimately led to full-scale tuning. In this case, the owner of the car, Oleg, as friends, Andrey, Sergey and Ilya could help. Objective of the project? Nothing specific, guys just like to do the car. This is normal, everyone passed.

Before painting, the guys removed the rear door handles and the tailgate lock (they installed electromagnetic actuators connected to the security system for opening). The hood hinges were transferred to the windshield - for greater ease of access to the engine compartment and a more modern look. To keep the hood upright, Audi added gas stops to the hinges. The same was installed on the trunk lid (it should have been lifted when the actuator releases the lock).

The engine of the model 21013, which was also very "tired", did not at all correspond to the image of a sports car. He was fired, putting in a vacant place 82-horsepower engine from the "Niva". Of course, this is not a match for heavy-duty turbo engines, but the dashing trouble has begun. And maybe it’s good that the increase in power is small. Otherwise, a complete reconstruction of the car would be required, and this is by no means an easy task. However, the guys could not resist the temptation to force the engine, modifying the power system, replacing the camshaft, putting tuning valves, a block head with enlarged channels. Of course, the “intake” now has a low-resistance filter, and the exhaust is assembled on pipes with a diameter of 51 mm, and it is crowned with a “sports” muffler. Carried away by the process, our tuners painted everything under the hood with different colors. It turned out very motley, but … unusual - for us, although foreign tuning lovers often draw in the engine compartment.

However, airborne drawings adorned the side of the "penny." They were performed by the artist of the STYAG design studio, using romantic images of flowers, wings and girls. He “wove” Shakotan inscriptions into the composition (see their explanation in a separate block). Of course, the suspension was underestimated - as far as fantasy allowed. "Penny" immediately acquired a dashing sporty look.

The guys tried to create the same sporty image in the interior, replacing the flat and low front "seats" with seats from foreign cars Honda Prelude and Volkswagen Passat GT, a large thin steering wheel with a sports steering wheel with a thick leather rim. There is another Italian Nardi to replace it. The guys shifted the gearshift lever, put a short-speed mechanism, built a console around. In the "six" panel now white scales, on top - additional devices. And the entire interior in contrasting black and white design.

"Syakotan" in translation from Japanese - "small clearance". The word refers to the extremist direction of tuning bosozoku, lovers of which put giant rear wings, huge spoilers, long exhaust pipes, external radiators, wide wheels and, of course, “drop” the body. The term came from the Shakotan Boogie Kusunoki Michiharu comic book-manga series, published in the 80s-90s. The main characters, high school students Gadzhimi and Koji, drove the first-generation Toyota Soarer underestimated sports coupe (Z10) with tail number 67.

- Oleg’s car clearly demonstrates what tuning happens when performed by young enthusiasts. It is respectful that the guys, with very limited means, are trying to extend the century of old domestic cars and at the same time do everything with their own hands. Not everything turns out well, but thanks to such guys, the term “motorist” is preserved in our vocabulary. They compare favorably with riders, representing cars with a variety of household appliances.
