What is also true for the Scout and RS versions - the reason is that these modifications, like Combi, are delivered to us from the Czech Republic.
When choosing an engine, at first I would like to sweep away a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine - the standard four cylinders are much more familiar. But do not rush - be sure to try this engine on a test drive, and after that take a ride on the 86-strong “four”. You will be surprised, but the “troika” is more convenient in the city - thanks to the short first gear, the hatchback so quickly takes it from its place that it’s not that flawed, but it’s not so slow to name such a “Fabia”. Thanks to the second camshaft, the “one and two” head does not shy of high revolutions and is perfectly lucky even at speeds of 120–130 km / h. At the same time, fuel consumption is on average less by a liter and a half per hundred than that of the more expensive (+40 thousand rubles) 86-strong. But if you can’t imagine life without an “automatic”, there is no choice - only the most powerful 1.6-liter engine. It costs a considerable 115 thousand rubles. Fortunately, this money will go not only to a very lively, modern 16-valve engine (not to be confused with the archaic 102-horsepower 8-valve, which Octavia and Golf are now equipped with), but also a smart 6-speed automatic transmission, and also a dynamic stabilization system.
But when choosing a version of equipment, do not forget that, for example, the basic “Classic” is the only package in which there is only air conditioning. Such a “Fabia” can only be with one air bag, without ABS and the usual power accessories. Another thing is standing a step above Ambiente. You need to pay for it only 25 thousand rubles, and the equipment will increase by ten options. It is this version that can be considered optimal, since the Elegance will cost another 80 thousand rubles, and the equipment really needed there once, twice, and cost - heating the front seats, front armrest and leather steering wheel. In addition, Elegance means at least a 1.4-liter engine, which we consider less suitable for the city.
So, we take Fabia-1, 2-Ambiente as the basis. At the same time, we would like the car to remain accessible and not go beyond 500 (or 600 with automatic transmission) thousand rubles, especially since almost everything it needs (except the air conditioner) is already in the database.
Despite the fact that the packages do not indulge in the number of options, we managed to assemble a well-equipped, fairly safe European supermini, which against the background of current prices, especially with a manual gearbox, looks really affordable. You can only visit the suboptimal combination of options - you will not succeed in getting the really necessary heating of the front seats along with the front armrest and leather steering wheel.
