LADA PRIORA
(surcharge for the built-in navigator 13 000 rubles.)
What car navigator can I buy today for 13, 000 rubles? Yes, almost anything - from the usual box on the bar to a not-so-smart phone. But, whatever one may say, standard devices are much more convenient in everyday life. Let's see what the Priory (or Kalina's) integrated guidebook can attract …
At first glance, everything here is not like human beings: the screen is small (4.3 inches diagonal) and is located very unusual - right between the devices. However, you get used to its size and layout quickly and soon you even begin to praise AvtoVAZ for such a creative approach.
In addition, the Lada navigator very quickly finds a satellite and positioning accuracy at altitude. After all, it works with signals not only from American GPS satellites, but also from Russian GLONASS (here the bill is not in our favor - for every domestic satellite there are two or three of our own).

The advantages and disadvantages of the Navitel Navigator program, uploaded to the Priors (and Kalina) navigators, are well known to us. Once again, we praise the completeness of the maps of Russia - here are detailed plans for 1, 500 cities, 118, 000 (!) Settlements of our country are “registered” with varying degrees of detail.
The software can be updated: for this, a special mini-USB connector is provided on the instrument panel. True, for the update you will need to additionally buy a laptop - for pre-recording add-ons before downloading directly to the navigator. Will come out a little expensive.
Emotions fell into a negative at the first set of addresses. It is inconvenient to operate with a five-button block on the right steering column lever - you have to twist your arm. In addition, each letter must be searched with arrows and confirmed with the central button. It takes twice or even three times as long to enter an address than when using devices with a touch screen.

It is even more difficult to put up with the slowness of the system. It takes thirty seconds to download the program - well, okay. But when the navigator freezes for 10-12 seconds after entering the next letter when typing the name of a city or street, it starts to annoy. The processor clearly lacks performance, any difficult outcome for it is similar to a test for quick thinking - as a rule, here it stumbles and falls silent, and the picture on the screen freezes helplessly.
It’s a pity, because the rest of the Lada navigator performs its functions quite well - it lays the correct routes, gives competent voice prompts. In a word, if a faster processor is installed in the VAZ navigator and the control unit is finalized, then it can be recognized as an option worth its money. In the meantime, this is too controversial device, even despite the modest price.

To my surprise, despite the manufacturer’s statements, navigation is not a factory option of Solaris at all! It is put by dealers, and regardless of the configuration of a particular car. The option turned out to be not cheap - 29, 000 rubles. for the head unit plus 5000 rubles. for installation. And if you also need to replace the frame (it depends on the execution of the center console), please give another 6000 rubles. A lot!
In addition, by setting navigation, you will lose the ability to listen to music from CDs - only USB devices will remain as external sound carriers. But there are pluses. The main thing is that you get a full-fledged multimedia system with a large 7-inch touch screen, the ability to connect external hard drives and a rearview camera. All this is neatly inscribed in the center console - there is no sense of foreignness here.
And it’s very convenient to use: the virtual buttons are large, and the monitor is responsive even to weak touches. The Koreans chose iGO primo from Hungarian developers as the software. And they did not fail - this is one of the most convenient navigation programs to use.
Dialing an address on a 7-inch touch screen is convenient and safe. The hardware does not slow down the process of finding the desired address

In combination with a smart hardware, it works perfectly: it loads in less than 10 seconds, works without hitches, quickly paves and changes routes. And how convenient it is to type your destination on a huge on-screen keyboard! Of course, you can find fault with voice prompts that are not always correct from the point of view of the Russian language. But experienced users know that almost all programs have such a sin.
A serious minus is not the most detailed maps of Russia. Although the latest files from Navteq have been downloaded to the device, their detail leaves much to be desired. Everything is in order with Moscow and St. Petersburg, but before traveling to the hinterland it is better to take care of searching for a card from a third-party manufacturer - such an intervention is possible, and recording add-ons on micro-SD is not difficult.
