The car is built on the same platform, which did not prevent it from being seriously updated constructively. So, the base engine is now a 2.5-liter petrol “four” with a capacity of 181 hp. (parameters of the previous engine: 2.4 l, 167 hp). It would seem that a small increase, however, this was quite enough for a noticeable improvement in dynamics - the car accelerates more confidently. At the same time, fuel consumption was reduced by a quarter, this is a merit not only of a more efficient engine, but also of a more modern 6-speed “automatic machine” (previously a 5-band or mechanical transmission was used, which it was decided to completely abandon now).

But the parameters of the 3.5-liter gasoline “six” installed on the flagship model modifications remained unchanged - it met the most modern standards and did not require engineering intervention. From the point of view of the driver, Camry does not present revelations: it is unlikely that it will be possible to get pleasure from control - insufficient understeer and a completely uninformative steering wheel. The manufacturer declares that for the pleasure of driving, you should turn to cars of another class, for example, to a coupe.

As before, the trump card of Toyota Camry is its excellent ride - the pits and potholes seem to disappear thanks to the suspension. However, one more, no less important, was added to this advantage - the noise level in the cabin was significantly (2 dB) reduced. In almost any driving mode in a car, you can talk in a half-whisper. For other classmates, this may not be so important, but not for Camry. After all, it is most often bought as a “staff” - for use with a hired driver. Comfort in this case, as you know, comes to the fore.

By the way, the updated model has become much more hospitable to the passengers of the second row. Firstly, there is now more spacious. Secondly, the seatbacks are adjustable in angle. Thirdly, the rear passengers have the opportunity to set personal weather in their area of residence and change the volume of the radio. Thumbs up for business class!
