In a world where engine displacement is rapidly approaching a liter, and sometimes even less (Fiat's twin liter 0.9 liter is a prime example), and turbo power is growing.

But Suzuki does fine without a turbine: the 1.6-liter gasoline engine of the new Swift Sport develops 136 hp, and in terms of kilowatts it is exactly a hundred. But the main thing is not the numbers, but the fact that this motor sounds very tasty. Not a couple of shrill turboperiods. And of course, it requires that it be twisted to the fullest. Suzukovsky VVT revives only after four thousand. But it’s lucky for all the money - acceleration in less than 9 seconds (more precisely - 8.7 s) and decent dynamics - the maximum speed is almost 200 km / h.

But if the motor is an improved version of what stood on the previous Sport, then the gearbox is completely new - 6-speed. Sixth gear, however, is solely for fuel economy, because the slogan of the new sports swift is “more emotions, less emissions”. Switching is expensive, know to push the gear. Lower gear synchronizers are especially good. Selecting speed you can easily switch without clutch. And on mountain drafts, you immediately understand what a naturally aspirated engine is good for - you go to the second almost like an automatic machine. The turbine would have turned sour here a long time ago.

The standard Swift is good, and the sport version is good. Suzuki engineers worked on the steering wheel settings and increased the stiffness of the front springs, and especially the rear suspension. 17-inch alloy wheels, even in dynamic bundles of turns, keep the road. But the seats, although specially made for Swift Sport and stitched with red thread, are inferior to the chassis - lateral support is clearly not enough.

A leather steering wheel, the already mentioned seats, pedals and gearshift lever - this is all the difference between the sports “swift” interior and the base. Outside there is a beast, but inside it is simply Swift in a rich configuration. I would like more exclusivity. There is no special color for Swift Sport, but the blue metallic and, of course, Swift's signature red look very impressive.
