Modernization affected the top versions of GLS and GLC. By the way, the modification with the FAM-1 engine, produced from 2006 to 2008, was already equipped with a similar safety package. However, today the last, ninth, generation of Bosch ABS is installed on the Chevrolet Niva. Electronics works adequately, the car maintains controllability during emergency braking, slightly passes on the mixed. True, some colleagues thought the ABS response was too early.

The work of airbags during the test drive did not have to be checked. It can only be noted that the panel covering the front passenger airbag is fitted very neatly. However, the listed innovations are not the only ones. Belt pretensioners appeared, and an additional crossbar in the front seat cushion frame. It prevents diving under the front panel of the driver and passenger during a frontal impact.

At the presentation of the updated Chevrolet Niva, the word "quality" was repeatedly spoken. At the same time, from the journalistic attacks on a number of long-standing car flaws, such as excessive vibrations in the transmission, fuzzy gear shifting, the GM-AvtoVAZ management is hiding behind the low market value of the model. Bringing the design to mind is not economically feasible. With such a slightly cynical attitude to business, conversations about quality and customer care do not fit. Perhaps the situation will change with the advent in 2015 of a new generation of the model.

- Any modernization will inevitably entail a rise in price of the product, and the potential owner of Chevrolet Niva is unlikely to pay more. However, a new security package is indisputably necessary. True, I doubt that most owners of this car are fastened at the wheel. Perhaps the sound indication of an unfastened belt should be made even more intrusive.
