Roads to new territories of Moscow

Kaluga highway
This is the main artery leading to the "cut" areas. From MKAD to the 49th kilometer there are only two lanes in each direction, further on one. Hence, even a small accident (a stalled car engine, a heavy-duty low-speed boat) will stop the movement along the entire length of the road.

It is impossible to apply such a reserve as using public transport. There is nothing to highlight the allocated lanes from, and the railway along the highway has not been laid. For residents of roadside settlements, in order not to be cut off from the "old" areas of the capital, there is only one thing left - to break through to them by road.
The highway will inevitably have to be reconstructed. But work for years paralyzes the movement on it. This is more than speculation. According to experts, last summer the reconstruction of the 200-meter section of the flyover at the intersection of the Kaluga highway and the railway ring already created 5-6-hour traffic jams.
Kiev highway
When the reconstruction of Kaluga begins, a collapse will occur on the neighboring Kiev highway. Those who rush to it are many for whom this track is at least to some extent an alternative.

Two snapshots of traffic jams from one point on the exit from Leninsky Prospekt to Kievskoye Shosse: on both sides from horizon to horizon. Last Friday, not at its peak hour (from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.), the traffic jam began somewhere far beyond the Moscow Ring Road, but ended near University Avenue. On a “restricted day” the situation is easier, but nobody canceled the “summer” Fridays with the increment of Moscow territories. But not only the residents of the suburbs and summer residents will aggravate the situation. The developing Vnukovo airport, to which the Kiev highway leads, will increase passenger and cargo traffic.

Skolkovo highway
In the western direction lies the territory of the future science city of Skolkovo, and there is no doubt in its dynamic development, under the guardianship of the president. So the same fate awaits him. But already today on it - from the region’s side, to the Moscow Ring Road - there is a non-absorbable cork with a length of 3-5 km.
MKAD
Experts estimate the growth of traffic flow during the first five years from the beginning of the development of “New Moscow” at 25–40%. Mass buildings on the areas from the southwest to the southeast, the resettlement of residents and organizations here will also be stopped by the Moscow Ring Road, which is still lacking throughput capacity today.

There is no law - and the bribes are smooth
Commented on the perspective reflected in the research, the head of the Interregional public organization "For the safety of Russian roads" Dmitry Leontyev:
- It would seem that the transport situation in Moscow and its suburbs does not happen worse. It happens: traffic jams in the metropolitan area are becoming more and more, and this is a trend. In the first half of 2011, the average car speed fell another 4%, traffic congestion increased by 20% compared to the same period last year. In the morning hours the “slowest” highways are those in the southeast.

“The capital was expanded in the direction of the only non-congested direction - the south-west,” continues Dmitry Leontyev. “This relatively safe road corridor may soon be blocked by increasing traffic, and what will happen is already happening, say, in the Yaroslavl or Ryazan directions.
It would seem, of course, a thing - to harmonize the capabilities of highways taking into account the development of administrative entities. Logically, the order should be compelled. But the trouble is that there is no such law - and the authorities did not bother to link traffic flows with other city-forming factors.
