In Miass, at the IVECO AMT car factory, they made a special car with two cabs for rescue work in tunnels built in the vicinity of Sochi for the upcoming Olympics. However, in Russia there are a lot of bottlenecks (in the literal sense of the word), where a big car can’t turn around, and such a car can be simply irreplaceable.
Design began in advance by the forces of their own, Ural designers. IVECO AMT is a joint Russian-Italian enterprise, which is engaged not only in the assembly of heavy trucks "IVECO-Traker", but also produces special vehicles on their units. However, the two-headed truck turned out to be so unusual that it surprised even the factory workers themselves. And after a short test run on local roads, we realized one more thing: in this form, the car causes considerable confusion among other participants in the movement. Can you imagine the feeling of a driver who suddenly saw the frontage of a huge truck in his lane? Therefore, for further testing and driving the car to the manufacturer of add-ons, the backup cab was draped with a tarp. Just in case, so as not to sow panic on the road.

In real life, you will have to drive these cars a little, the main task is to serve on guard. The fire in the tunnel is no less terrible than in a skyscraper - there's nowhere to run! If necessary, the fire mounted in front of the ram-wedge must clear the way for other rescue vehicles. There will be a need - it will easily drag away those caught in an accident, and suppress the fire with foam or water from a four-cubic capacity. If there is not enough water, the driver will transfer to the rear cab and rush out of the tunnel to the nearest fire reservoir at a speed of 85 km / h. A pump mounted on the machine can fill the tank in 40 seconds!
In a fire zone there is usually nothing to breathe - oxygen burns out, everywhere pungent smoke. But not only combat crews need a supply of air. To prevent the engine from suffocating, the car was equipped with an artificial respiration system - cylinders with compressed air. The cabins are equipped with filtering units, so a crew of six in any of them can do without gas masks.
Among the differences between the “two-faced” fire and rescue vehicle (PSA) from a conventional truck, there are not only two cabs, but also a special chassis. Four-wheel drive car, with both axles controlled (traction and levers pass along the frame) - this improves maneuverability and reduces the turning radius. The total weight of the firefighter is 18, 000 kg, the weight distribution is ideal - 50:50. The bridges are time-tested and harsh conditions - their prototypes have proven themselves well on the legendary Bamov "magiruses".
The motor from the IVECO range was also selected with a margin - the largest, the F3B Cursor 13 with a volume of 12.88 liters, but not in the 560-horsepower version, but with a minimum power setting of 380 hp. At the same time, the resource will probably exceed a million kilometers, although it is clear that a fire truck will never have such a run. But the maximum reliability, and this is much more important for a combat vehicle.
