An avalanche of a variety of tablets - from fabulously expensive to defiantly cheap - has flooded the Russian market over the past year. Of course, the Apple iPad is leading here, but every day the leader is more and more pressed by portable computers with the Google Android operating system. As a representative of this group, we took the more compact, but almost the most powerful Taiwanese 7-inch HTS Flyer (iPad has a screen diagonal of 9.7 inches). How to use modern technology in the car, I did not have to think long. Application methods were prompted by the technical characteristics of the device: in addition to multimedia capabilities, there was a chip for GPS navigation and a SIM card for accessing the Internet through a cellular network.

The first problem, which not everyone thinks about: how to conveniently and safely fix the tablet in the cabin? With the 7-inch HTC, everything turned out to be quite simple: you can choose a universal holder for it for 400-500 rubles. But the mount for the iPad costs an average of about 2000 rubles - expensive!
Maybe you can do without it using a transforming cover-stand? Something worthwhile is unlikely to come out of this venture: the screen will rise at the wrong angle and will greatly glare. In addition, leaving an almost kilogram loose part on the panel is simply dangerous - imagine how it can “shoot” under sharp braking or, God forbid, an accident.

The most obvious use of a tablet is as a navigator. You can install an unlimited number of navigation programs on anyone (practice shows that some work better in the outback, others in megacities). Users of city “guides” will appreciate the ability to connect to the Internet via a cellular line: you can download traffic information.

But to the legitimate question: what is more convenient to use for navigation, iPad or HTC - it is difficult to answer. On the one hand, more information is placed on the screen of the apple computer, on the other hand, a hefty panel considerably limits the view. More compact "Taiwanese" in the car almost does not interfere. But looking at a picture on it is more difficult, you have to strain your eyes and be distracted from the road.

It is very convenient to have a permanent access to the World Wide Web. E-mail, directories, social networks - with the help of tablets you can use all this anywhere in the world.

You just need to remember that the mobile Internet in Russia is still not cheap. Therefore, carefully consider the choice of a tariff plan. As a rule, the ones that were originally designed for 3G modems are most advantageous: the fee per megabyte of traffic in such packets is usually several times lower than on a regular, "talk" SIM card.

Your passengers wanted to have fun? You can devote an hour or two to games, which have already been created for tablets. Or watch your favorite movie, and even in excellent digital quality. It is gratifying that you do not have to worry about recharging the device - modern computers are able to work all day even with a heavy load.

And so that extraneous sounds do not distract the driver from the road, standard 3.5 mm headphone jacks are provided in the tablets. Do not worry about image quality: both devices have bright screens and powerful graphics accelerators. But watching a movie on an iPad with a larger screen is, of course, much more convenient.

As a rule, tablet owners are business people. So, at least sometimes they need to send letters, take notes, reminders. On a small HTC, similar work is organized unexpectedly conveniently. The secret is that on its virtual keyboard buttons occupy almost half of the screen.
