When the road was reconstructed in 1985, it was hoped that few cars would pass here - up to 40 thousand a day. Therefore, they laid two lanes in each direction, and in some places left one. Today, on the main section of the highway (from Moscow to the turn to Sheremetyevo-1 Airport), the traffic flow is up to 135 thousand cars per day, in the Solnechnogorsk region - 80 thousand, with 40% of this amount - trucks.
Only the understudy can drastically unload the track. The Moscow-St. Petersburg toll motorway will run in parallel and will take over most of the transit flows. It is planned to be held from Moscow bypassing the cities of Khimki, Solnechnogorsk, Klin, Tver, Torzhok, Bologoe, Vyshny Volochyok, Novgorod, Tosno, Valdai National Park. The total travel time from Moscow to St. Petersburg will be five to six hours.
Construction will begin this year; the first section (from MKAD to Solnechnogorsk, length 43 km) will be opened in three years. The speed on the highway will reach 150 km / h, the total number of lanes - from eight to ten. The weighted average tariff will be 3.6 rubles / km. The fare will be different - depending on the frequency of use of the road, type of transport (for trucks - more expensive), time of year, day, day of the week, etc. The first payment point is planned at the 6th kilometer from MKAD. That is, residents of the left-bank Khimki and Dolgoprudny will receive new free transport exits.
