Documents for traveling abroad

1. Visa
This "pass" must be acquired in advance. Otherwise, the maximum you can count on is the nearest visa-free countries: Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine. To Europe, China and Mongolia without a visa the path is closed. Almost all European countries are now included in the Schengen agreement, so, say, with a visa obtained at the Spanish embassy, you will easily enter Europe through any country, with the exception of Bulgaria and Romania, which so far have their own visas.
By the way, you can get a visa by presenting to the consular department confirmation that a hotel room has been booked.
2. Medical insurance
When crossing the border, you and your passengers should have health insurance in their hands. In some embassies it is impossible to obtain a visa without a medical policy, therefore, in most cases, it is issued in advance. To travel to the countries of the European Union and the UK, you need a policy that covers expenses not less than 30, 000 euros. The price of such a policy is determined at the rate of approximately 1-2 euros per day of travel. For lovers of extreme sports (skiing, snowboarding, windsurfing, etc.), the policy will cost twice as much: saving and treating athletes is troublesome and expensive.
3. Green card
To travel by car, you will need another insurance, an analogue of our CTP - a green card. CTP is valid only on the territory of Russia, and the "green card" works only abroad. You can buy it at any insurance company that is a member of the PCA. The price will be the same everywhere and depends only on the duration of the trip, the type of car (car, truck or bus) and the type of card. One type of card is insurance for the CIS countries, the other for the European Union. Just in case, make a few copies of the green card: in the event of an accident due to your fault, a traffic police inspector will require a copy of insurance.
4. Power of attorney
A document that is abroad (with the exception of the CIS countries and Ukraine) will not be asked for sure. But our border guards will certainly demand! And there must necessarily be a phrase: "With the right to travel abroad." In European countries, such a thing as proxy management is absent. For company cars, you also need a ticket where the route must be indicated, but, again, only Russian servicemen will require it.
5. The TRP ticket. By and large, a maintenance ticket is needed only for our inspectors and customs officers. In principle, their European colleagues do not need this ticket. If the car clearly does not meet safety requirements, and they are practically the same in countries that have signed the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, you will simply be deployed and no coupon will help. However, in order to avoid problems, the maintenance ticket must be carried with you. For those who fell under the “amnesty” and to whom the term of the next MOT was extended, I still recommend replacing the coupon.
6. Certificate of registration of the car
Along with a driver’s license is one of the main documents of interest to law enforcement officers. You do not need to take your vehicle passport with you.
