Roads

In general, it will only be necessary to tidy up the traffic intersection at the intersection of the 3rd Small and 3rd Big transport rings with Krasnopresnensky Avenue and the stretch from Begovaya to Sadovoy - and we will have a holiday. Nothing that the highway was planned to be fully commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2009 (including the arrangement of interchanges, pedestrians and local thoroughfares) … Crisis and other political circumstances intervened. Muscovites are not used to waiting. Moreover, there is something for which: the new route is designed for a throughput of up to 7.2 thousand cars per hour, the estimated speed should be 100 km / h.
As the head of the Moscow Construction Department Andrei Bochkarev noted, the Krasnopresnenskaya highway will connect the central districts of the city with the Moscow-Riga motorway and reduce traffic density during peak hours. But here one does not need to be deep in the subject in order to understand: another modern traffic-free highway is salvation for the northwestern sector of the capital.
One of the most problematic sections of the route is unleashed - the intersection of ul. People’s Militia and Marshal Zhukov Avenue, passing into the street. Mnevniki. The first stage of work here ended in 2010 with the opening of traffic on overpasses and tunnels. Tunnel on the street The People’s Militia passes cars in four lanes, and the left-hand tunnel from Mnevniki Street towards Marshal Babajanyan Square - in two lanes in both directions.
So far, however, this tunnel does not save much of those traveling from Krylatsky to Sokol. After all, the street of the People’s Militia is not a gift in itself (remember only a terrible intersection from Marshal Biryuzov St.), the approaches to Leningradka are still kept. At the “best” hours, Alabyan Street is already off the bridge over Okruzhnaya … But, hopefully, this phenomenon is temporary. After all, when the Alabyan-Baltic tunnel opens, prosperity will come here.
The tunnel at the intersection of Marshal Zhukov Avenue with People’s Militia Street is part of the second construction phase. In accordance with the project, five overpasses with a total length of 1.14 km were commissioned here. Engineering communications are being laid, the construction of the last three of 11 pedestrian crossings is being completed, by the way, 10 of them are underground.
Recall that the first section of Zvenigorodsky Avenue - from Marshal Zhukov Avenue to the Moscow Ring Road - was commissioned at the end of 2007. It is here that there are two unique structures - the first cable-pylon bridge in Moscow, called Zhivopisny, and the long Northwest tunnels.
