When you get to the legendary Monument Valley in Utah, at first you can't believe your eyes - well, there are no such beautiful places! Maybe somewhere beyond the horizon they stuck some kind of substrate-card with a beautiful view?
Yes, and having gotten behind the wheel of a real, three-door “Wrangler”, you can’t believe your eyes again: a descendant of world-famous ATVs has thrown off former modesty, has become much richer and more comfortable. Judge for yourself - solid plastic, smart and pleasant to the touch skin, beautiful appliances, decorative metal inserts and even … a chubby and quite modern steering wheel with music control buttons instead of a thin, classic Jeep steering wheel.
If you perceive the interior, closing your eyes - to the touch, it is easy to believe that you are sitting in a very thoroughbred car, but certainly not in a utilitarian all-terrain vehicle

But still, some values remained unshakable: the sheer bulk of the center console with hefty power window buttons, a removable plastic roof, and an almost flat windshield. However, lounging in a comfortable chair and naturally holding the steering wheel with one hand, one wonders involuntarily: did “Wrangler” lose off-road talent along with moderate asceticism?
On the pavement, the descendant of Willis is quite predictable - leisurely and a bit imposing. No wonder: the manufacturer left the technical stuffing unchanged, concentrating efforts to a lesser extent on the exterior, and more on the interior. The combination of a 3.8-liter gasoline engine and a 4-speed automatic sets for a quiet ride. Moreover, the suspension does not like even small cracks - on each car it trembles significantly, as if warning: do not drive!

But here is the treasured booth ahead - from here begins one of the famous off-road trails. We have to overcome the track Fins and Things (literally translated - "fins and things"). And here already at the first meters “Wrangler” shows itself in all its glory. At first, even irritation appeared: why is crawling so slow? But there is no secret: in our convoy there are jeeps of all stripes.
On steep ascents and descents, on boulders and in sand traps, they have to salt. But my “horse” does not care about these obstacles. Where I just roared strainedly, skidded and hung the Compass wheels, I managed to drive absolutely calmly, without straining. And so it went - all the way I had to let go of those traveling ahead or wait for the laggards.
Some ascents and descents on the track made me doubt the validity of the laws of physics and rejoice at the enormous supply of Wrangler’s capabilities

Of course, in the American Rockies, many off-road vehicles are likely to perform worthily. But can they do it as beautifully and naturally as the Wrangler? It's great that the car has become more elegant on the outside and more luxurious on the inside. It’s great that it’s still damn nice to go where others don’t go. It is advisable - in the realm of crimson rocks, where exactly this car will be truly at home.
