The authorities believe that at such updated transportation hubs (TPU), motorists who came to Moscow from the region will begin to change to public transport. To stimulate them for a feat should cheap or even free parking.
In Tushino, they are going to try out ideas that later, with positive results, will be applied to all TPUs. For example, there will be a barrier with a reading system that allows only buses with a special chip to pass through. Buses will be equipped with the GLONASS system, which allows you to track the movement of vehicles. The reconstruction will unite the territory of the railway station, metro and bus station. The trading pavilions will be removed, and for cars on the site of the Tushino market there will be a parking for 1300-1700 places. As a result, the throughput capacity of the Tushino junction will increase from 300 thousand people per day to 450 thousand, and the number of bus flights from 40 to 60.
The next interchange station is in the Novokosino area. They are also going to combine a metro station that intercepts a parking lot and a bus circle. The new transport hub should be commissioned in 2012. The rest - at the departure highways, near the terminal stations of the metro or railway. In the region, these are railway platforms and large bus stations, such as Khimki and Skhodnya. And the farthest TPU will be built in the city of Elektrougli. The idea is that you can get to Moscow by rail, bypassing traffic jams near Balashikha.
The city authorities plan to manage all nodes from a single dispatch center. This will be the responsibility of the Transport Organizer. It will track passenger traffic, the operation of routes and even catch “hares”. By 2020, 44 TPUs should open, including at new metro stations.
In the meantime, all existing major interchange hubs will be improved: they will organize transport in a new way, designate places for pedestrian crossings and bus stops, arrange parking for different carriers.
