The products of the Bor factory are required to meet all modern safety requirements, for which there are several checkpoints on the site. Tempered glass should break into small chips that do not have sharp edges that can injure a person. For this, the test sample is hit with a core with a diamond tip. Then, in a radius of up to 50 cm from the impact site, the number and size of fragments in the 5 cm2 area are calculated. They should not be less than 45, and the length of each not more than 6 mm.
The second test - a ball weighing 2260 g, which from a height of 4 m falls on the glass. It must hold the ball on the surface after impact for at least 15 seconds. In our case, the ball did not fail - an excellent result.
In the third phase of the experiment, the windshield should hold the person inside the cabin during a frontal impact. To do this, a mannequin weighing 10 kg is suspended, which falls from a height of 1.5 m onto the inside of the “lobovuhi”. It must withstand impact and absorb due to the elastic internal PVB film. If circular cracks spread within a radius of up to 80 cm, and the fragments do not separate from the film, the sample is considered to be conditioned. In our case, the glass passed the exam with a large margin.

Another reliable and significant UAZ supplier is Robert Bosch Saratov. This company, in ancient Soviet times, produced spark plugs, and after it became part of Bosch Corporation in 1996, its product range began to expand rapidly. Today, in addition to spark plugs, the plant produces gasoline injection components supplied to conveyors of Russian and foreign automakers. These are fuel ramps, gasoline pump modules, high pressure fuel pumps (TNVD), wiring harnesses, central injection modules and mass air flow sensors. Deliveries to the Ulyanovsk plant began back in 2004. So far, only the fuel rail and wiring harnesses go to the conveyor. The question of the quality of these products is no longer standing - it complies with international standards. In addition, quality is ensured by the implementation of the Bosch production system - BPS, embodying the principles of Lean Production - lean manufacturing, aimed at standardizing optimal processes. The history of the Borsky glass factory begins in 1934, when the first batch of glass manufactured by the Furko method was released. The glass mass coming in the form of a continuous tape from the furnace is passed between two rolling rollers and cooled. Then it is cut into separate sheets familiar to us. To date, this method is not used, it was replaced by a more modern - float method. Today this method is used at the Borsky factory, where 1, 200 tons of polished and 1, 4 million machine sets of tempered and laminated glass per year are produced on two lines. The main products of the plant are polished glass, from which automobile windows, mirrors, double-glazed windows and stained-glass windows are made.
