The new white “six” appeared at the Izotovs in 1990, becoming the first car in the family. Like many of us, for the first time Denis got behind the wheel of a car in the country. When he was ten years old, his father handed over the keys: “Learn, learn!” So almost all his childhood Denis was busy with the “six”, learning how to disassemble and assemble it almost using a screwdriver, after reading all the available technical literature about the VAZ-2106. Closer to the 18th birthday, Denis began to think about tuning (it was soon to receive the “rights” with which all roads opened). And the first thing that was redone is the engine. The carburetor power system resigned, an injection was installed instead, cylinder head channels were bored, valves were replaced with T-shaped ones. To compensate for the increase in power plus safety, Denis installed disc brakes on the rear axle. And for your own pleasure - a good audio system.

In the winter of 2008, Denis took first place in his «six’ in rally sprint competitions, in the summer he participated in the show “Autoexotics” and became one of the winners, later he participated in the Arena Drive show. The machine and its owner invariably came under the spotlight, and this meant that time and effort had been well spent.

The second birth of the Six took place after an accident in 2008. The whole left side of the car was broken, it led the roof, the rear axle shifted. Most in this situation would give up on the car and send its remains to scrap, but Denis decided to restore the old body or buy a new one. It was lucky that just at that time an acquaintance who was leaving abroad was actually selling a new body, and quite cheaply. At this moment, Denis decided to completely remake the car, turning it into a sports car: put a supercharged engine under the hood, modify the chassis, weld the safety cage … The native eight-valve engine went into reserve for a shelf in the garage. Instead, he got a “sixteen valve”, assembled on a block from Lada Kalina and equipped with a turbine from Nissan Skyline. The steering gear and the pendulum lever went to the trash, and instead of them was installed steering rack from the Oda and an adjustable steering column. And the second time Denis strengthened the braking system by installing 15-inch ventilated discs and 4-piston calipers from Alfa Romeo on the front axle. On the rear axle put disc brakes from the VAZ-2112.

But even traffic police inspectors understand that the case is not entirely typical. The guy is not just riding a charged car, he built it with his own hands from inside to out, and he never minds recklessly.
In my opinion, it is time for such masters to introduce new, separate rules for technical inspection. And only one thing can be said to the zealots of authenticity: the “six” of 1989 was not a rarity. She was not even a young timer. And the accident in the 18th year put an end to its history. Only thanks to Denis this point turned into a comma.
