It happens that the wheel is tightened so that you can’t beat it without a pipe, even dancing on the key, but you don’t have a pipe or an impact wrench, with which the tire fitting technician once “fastened” the wheels. Knock fasteners with any weighty object, striking strictly along the axis of the bolts. If mounting on nuts, beat through a spacer - for example, a socket head of a suitable size. But do not overdo it: the stronger the blow, the greater the chance of damage to the wheel bearing.
Before you pick up the jack, be sure to put the machine in gear and the parking brake! The platform should be flat, without a bias. Under the wheel, located diagonally to the broken one, put the stops - at least cobblestones from the side of the road. As you lift the body, make sure that the jack does not fold. You may have to repeat the climb, having shifted the heel of the jack a little. Be careful!
If the wheels are light alloy and the spare wheel is on a steel disc, check that the fasteners fit both wheels. It happens that even the turnkey size is different. The moral is simple: think over the situation in advance.

Recall that ten cars participate in the test: Hyundai Accent, Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla, Mitsubishi-Lancer, Renault Logan, Daewoo Nexia, Chevrolet Lacetti, "Mazda-3", "Lada-Priora" and "Kalina". One thing unites everyone: the spare wheel is located in the luggage compartment niche, under the flooring. Therefore, in the beginning it is necessary to unload the luggage. The moment, of course, is important, but it does not apply directly to this test, so the luggage carriers of the experimental vehicles are empty. We do not take into account the size of the spare wheel either: we are interested in the replacement process itself, and we will leave the discussion, which is better - a dokatka or a full wheel, for later.
We will change the left rear wheel, the time spent (the average result of three attempts) and, of course, the convenience of using a standard tool counts. The latter is subjectively evaluated by the mechanic of the technical center ZR Evgeny Mikhalkevich. Stopwatch is on!
The fastest way is Zhenya pereobul Logan and Kalina - in 7 minutes 26 seconds each. However, the first place was given to “Logan”: he has a more comfortable and not so relaxed jack. And the can is 35 mm longer, therefore, the force is less. In addition, a sticker with tire sizes and recommended pressure was found on the driver's door. It is bad that the tightening torque is not indicated - such information, in our opinion, should be before your eyes, and not in the Operation Guide. (However, there is no recommended moment in the stickers of other cars.) We tighten the four nuts crosswise.

It’s all because of a trifle: the manufacturer saved on a penny eyelet to suspend the flooring for it.
There is no such loop in the "Corolla", which took sixth place. In addition, the jack is hidden here - you will not immediately guess to look for it under the right plastic tray. To remove the tray, you need to put your fingers into the narrow slot on the side of the upholstery. And as she pulls out the tray, she contracts, painfully biting her fingers. It isn’t scary for a calloused hand, but it’s not easy for a lady with manicure to preserve the “beauty of her nails”.
The seventh was the Taganrog Accent. The jack here is domestically made, and the lead screw is with a double eye, therefore, the Korean extension hook with a convenient, by the way, plastic sleeve for a grip at first looks like a useless contraption. Our pen is also included, but it’s very inconvenient to work with it - it’s easy to scratch your hands on asphalt. We advise you to throw it away, and to use the proprietary assembly of the extension cord and cylinder wrench, connect the screw ears with a bolt. Keep in mind: “Accent” has very weak wheel studs - after restyling, they install fasteners from “KIA-Rio” of the first generation (part 0 К993 33 062В).
Nexia is in eighth place. And not only because her brand new jack is densely covered with grease (not without reason Oriental cuisine is known for its fat content). It is impossible to work with slippery palms, but while our mechanic was washing his hands, the clock was ticking. Then he washed his head - propping up the rag flooring with it, smeared with the same solidol. There is an eye for fixing the flooring for flanging the trunk, but so flimsy that under its own weight it bends and jumps off.
With the "Lancer" they transported for 10 minutes and another 51 seconds - for a long time they turned the screw for fastening the spare wheel with a very long thread. You will not immediately find places on the thresholds under the jack - cutouts in flanges are inexpressive. In two attempts, at first they missed, substituting a jack (by the way, very convenient) under the wrong places.
The “Focus”, which took the last place, absorbed almost all the flaws of its predecessors: the jack places are hardly distinguishable, and it is equipped with an uncomfortable handle, forcing it to turn over every half-turn, and the plastic door sills are easy to break, and the foam organizer limits freedom of maneuver with a spare. That almost ran two minutes against the “Lancer”.
