But still “a little” - not all, there were white spots on the map, and it is most convenient to examine them not on foot, but behind the wheel. So buying your own SUV was only a matter of time. And the fact that Zhenya acquired it UAZ, having decided to build himself a car for expeditions, is also quite natural. Prerequisites were prevalence, simplicity, a truly inexhaustible potential for tuning and, of course, price. Foreign cars, from which you can make a similar terrain vehicle, are much more expensive.

The purchase took place in 2008. The cost of UAZ 315195 Hunter at that time amounted to 348 thousand rubles. Over the past time, Eugene has invested in the improvements of about 200 thousand. Funds spent mainly on improving patency. In the list of improvements (see the appendix) - bodylift, 33-inch "mud" wheels, winch, "protection" in a circle, additional optics, snorkel …
However, Eugene began with increasing comfort: replaced with better door seals, removed the standard sound insulation and glued the body of a new one (the masters used three types of materials - Vibroplast M2, Vizomat MP and Splen), installed an audio system, a more comfortable steering wheel and a plastic dashboard. When the car had a characteristic problem with fogging the windows, the standard “stove” was replaced by a NAMI-2 high-power heater, designed specifically for UAZ 3151 and modifications, and an additional heater from Patriot was installed under the back seat (it heats the interior and trunk), connected glass heating. Now it’s not scary to go even north in the middle of winter - there will be no problems. This was proved not only by the run to the White Sea last fall, but also by the past winter, when even in the capital there were crackling frosts for a couple of weeks.

Interest arises in connection with large wheels and the increased mass of the car. To the first question, Eugene answers that, depending on the mode of movement, it takes 10 to 13 liters of gasoline per 100 km on the highway and up to 15 liters in the city. The gasoline ZMZ-409 is quite satisfied: “I know that diesel engines are more economical and high-torque, but I just don't like them.”
Regarding the second question, about speed, Eugene says that for the sake of the experiment he accelerated to 155 km / h. Reliability? For the first year, the mileage of the “hunter” exceeded 30 thousand km, and, as its owner says, there was not a single breakdown. Only during the ford assault the light bulbs in the headlights burst … In the second year, again due to off-road, the idle control “flew”, and in December the cross joints of the rear driveshaft. And it's all! “I’m crazy about UAZ, no other car is needed,” said Eugene a couple of months ago.

It should turn into a “mini-expediter” with universal wheels (A / T class tires), a roof box, extra light, a walkie-talkie and a winch.
Eugene does not intend to part with the domestic SUV. So UAZ, as a favorite, will receive another batch of improvements that will give it additional solidity compared to the "younger brother" Jimny. It is hoped that Eugene will be able to maintain the current balance between off-road qualities and comfort.

This is not a sports equipment, but a real all-terrain vehicle. That is, a car to which all roads are subject. And directions.
