You can, of course, talk for a long time about the advantages of a long-stroke engine (with a cylinder diameter and a piston stroke of 84 × 90 instead of the previous 92 × 75) and a modified valve camber angle, a different form of the combustion chamber, and a reduction in friction in the most stressed areas. But these engineering gadgets are not important for most consumers. The passport characteristics of the 2-liter engine are the same. Then why? The answer is convincing: almost 10% fuel economy! But the pendants are now without ambiguities - more dense and energy-intensive, sometimes on small bumps even frightening with a drum roll. But this feature quickly shrinks, because the car copes with other roughnesses in the roadway effortlessly.

The updated Forester will appear in Russia in the spring. Then, I hope, Subaru will also introduce a modernized 2.5-liter engine, and a little later - turbo versions with a capacity of 230 and 263 hp. The latter is intended for a special, sports modification of the S-Edition … But it's too early to talk about it.
