Frequent forays into the urban crowd keep the body panels intact. Of course, you cannot escape fate, but the consequences can be minimized. The main wishes are fast and cheap. Do dealers take into account commercial specifics?
We compare the speed and price of repairs under certain conditions: we restore the car in the workshops of official dealers using original spare parts ordered for models with the minimum configuration. The process itself is limited to the replacement of parts with subsequent painting. Given the different cost of the left and right sidewalls, we included both parts in the damage list - one conditionally suffers from a side impact, the other - when hitting the rear.
Despite the Russian production, FIAT-Doblo Cargo is not cheap to repair. Its parts are the most expensive in our test (they consume 65% of the total cost of repairs) and are scarce: most parts will have to be ordered. Their delivery time ranges from 8-12 days. An invitation to repair will arrive no earlier than in a week. Only moderate rates are comforting. The car will be able to return to its duties in 18 days or later.
Citroen-Berlingo Forst was a bit more modest. The cost of parts is slightly lower, but you should not rejoice. Buying something at once will not work, and dealers will be able to supply the necessary supplies only within two weeks. The service policy is balanced, repair rates will not exceed 55% of the total. The wait may be delayed for a month, but after 19 days the “heel” will be in operation.
Volkswagen-Caddy Casten is a solid middle peasant. The cost of spare parts, accounting for 52% of the total costs, will not scare even a fussy owner. Most positions are on dealer shelves; a couple of weeks is enough to bring the deficit from Germany. Just in time for this, the turn to the service will come, the cost of services of which is very attractive. A working vehicle will return to its owner in 19–20 days.
Peugeot Partner VU - the twin brother of Citroen - turned out to be much more maintainable economically. The cost of some parts is almost the same, but the right and left sidewalls are much cheaper. At the time of preparation of the material, the dealer had the entire range of items found on the list. There are no queues for repairs, and the costs will not exceed 60% of the amount of the order. Forced driver leave will not last longer than three weeks.
