Any tire, even the best, is the result of a compromise between performance. And the leaders are those in which it was possible to reconcile parameters such as grip on dry and wet surfaces, rolling resistance and effective braking, long life and low fuel consumption …
Comfort is not the first time participating in our tests, improving the results from year to year. And although the brand missed the competition ahead, we emphasize that the ninth place is separated from the first by only 77 points. They hold onto the road well at high speed and respond immediately to the steering wheel. Due to the modest grip properties, sharp maneuvers on a dry surface succeed only at a relatively low speed, limited by progressive drift. Annoy large steering angles. On wet surfaces, the success rate of the rearrangement is expectedly reduced. However, the behavior of the Priors remains unchanged - the same drift that requires adjustment. Like dry land, steering angles are large. The brakes on any surface are the weakest: they lose to the leaders of the test 4.5 m on dry asphalt and more than 3.5 m on wet. They do not indulge in comfort - they shake the car on small and medium-sized irregularities, clap on the road joints and seams. Gasoline is not wasted in vain, but it doesn’t save too much. Primer is contraindicated.
We stopped ranking tires by price segments - the reader himself will determine which to attribute to expensive and which to cheap. The brand’s authority, reflected in the price of the product, although it amuses the owner’s vanity, still does not guarantee undeniably better performance. Anyone who is interested in the nuances, who wants to make their own opinion about the tire based on their preferences, will find the necessary information in our tables and character descriptions. We note an important feature: the final results this time fell quite a bit - the gap between the first and the last according to the value system adopted in our test was only 77 points, that is, the outsider lost only 8% to the leader. It turns out that the struggle was almost equal!
The asymmetric tread pattern did not give the novelty any obvious advantages - the level is very close to the Kame Euro-224 with a symmetrical tread (872 points; ЗР, 2009, No. 3). At high speed they force the Priora to swim from side to side, the “zero” on the steering wheel is very blurry. Correction of the course is complicated by elevated steering angles and delayed reactions. Extreme maneuvers on a dry road are given at a higher speed than with the Cordiant, and it’s easier to perform them. A wet road almost does not cause a decrease in speed, however, driving requires proactive rather than reactive actions from the driver - because of the low information content of the steering wheel, it is advisable to predict the behavior of the machine. Braking is weak on any surface. They shake the car on medium and large irregularities, small ones conceal. Sound the joints and seams of the road surface, loudly fonit at speeds from 50 to 80 km / h. Fuel consumption is above average. Dirt roads are strictly contraindicated.
In the small size segment, almost all companies have acquired new products. Bridgestone, for example, is selling the Turanza ER300, promising excellent handling on wet roads. Our test confirms that these are really strong tires, and inexpensive (price / quality - 2.6), with an emphasis on traction and handling on wet surfaces.
The novelty in our test was submitted by the manufacturer as a tire with reduced rolling resistance and increased resource. In terms of exchange rate stability they remind "Kama" - they also scour it, requiring constant adjustment. Delayed reactions and large steering wheel angles interfere. Performing drastic maneuvers on dry land is not recommended. It's not even the modest speed of successful taxiing (the Cordiant has it even lower), but the complex behavior of the car, which breaks into a progressive drift. The driver is prevented from fighting with him by the same large steering angles of the steering wheel and a fuzzy "zero". On wet roads, the behavior of the car is understandable and predictable, but only before the breakdown in the slip - unexpected and sharp. Driving a car is easier than on a dry surface, although the steering wheel remains uninformative. Medium brakes on both dry and wet surfaces. Comfort is not high - trembling runs from small irregularities on the body, you can hear the rustling of the tread, amplifying with increasing speed. Moderate fuel consumption at 90 km / h, but at 120 km / h it increases. They don’t like dirt roads.
Goodyear, Michelin and Pirelli are betting on the now-popular green line - lower fuel consumption and, as a result, less harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The most experienced manufacturer in this topic, Michelin, is represented by energy-saving Energy Saver with an increased resource. They have excellent fuel efficiency at all speeds and a moderate price / quality ratio of 2.9.
Compared to last year’s test, the “energy saver” moved closer to the coveted 900-point mark. A dense steering wheel allows you to keep the road well at any speed and easily adjust the direction. Extreme maneuvers on a dry road take place at a fairly high speed. But you can quickly change lanes only with smooth operation of the steering wheel - these tires do not like sharp jerks, they slip, forcing the car to straighten the trajectory. On wet surfaces, the speed is a couple of kilometers lower, but the behavior of the machine and the nature of its control remain unchanged. The brakes on the dry road are weak, the difference with the leader of the exercise is more than 3 m. On the wet road they are 2 meters behind the leaders. In terms of comfort, the Michelin was at its best: we did not find flaws in the ride and noted a low noise level. These tires are the easiest to test - apparently, therefore, help to save fuel at any speed. However, not as good as last year’s test. Primer is acceptable in limited quantities.
Goodyear EfficientGrip is an attempt to compete with French tires in the green direction. Tires are quite economical at moderate speeds, but on the other side of the balance are weakened grip and difficult handling on dry pavement. In general, EfficientGrip - tires are good, but not cheap (price / quality - 3.1).
Readers are familiar with these tires. Last year’s test looked a little better, but this time they also stepped over a step of 900 points. At high speed, the driver is slightly alarmed by a not-so-clear “zero” on the steering wheel and slight delays when steering. However, with a sharp change in the lane on a dry road, these tires were the fastest. The behavior of "Lada" is understandable and predictable, they are strained only by elevated steering angles. On wet pavement did not shine in the "extreme" - the fifth result. But the control of the machine became clearer, since the ill-fated angles were reduced to the optimal value. Brakes on a dry road - average. On wet - above average, along with Pirelli. Ahead in this exercise is only the “first three” - “Nokian”, “Continental” and “Bridgestone”. There are minor complaints about comfort - tires pass joints and seams rigidly. The noise is not strong, but annoying, vaguely reminiscent of a helicopter rumble. They do not abuse fuel, although they do not save. Primer is acceptable in limited doses.
The representative of the Cinturato ecological line, new to Pirelli, is a modification of the well-known P6 model. Despite the company’s announcement of a decrease in rolling resistance, in our test the car on these tires consumed fuel in full measure. But the price / quality ratio of 2.5 is the most attractive in the top five.
For the second year, Cinturato tires have shown high results in our tests, almost no different from the usual P6. They drive the car smoothly at any speed, and immediately respond to a steering wheel turn. On dry surfaces, sharp maneuvers at high speed are successfully carried out. A dense steering wheel with good information and clear reactions helps the machine to carry out any driver's commands. Wet coating changes the picture a bit. The speed decreases slightly, but remains at a high level. Complicates the management of a sudden (like the "Goodyear") breakdown in a skid and an equally sharp recovery. They brake well on dry roads. On wet - very good (last year’s test was the leader of the exercise). Not at all comfortable - they shake the car firmly on small and medium irregularities, transmitting vibration to the floor of the body and controls. Clap at the joints and seams. They love gasoline the most - the most gluttonous tires of the test. Dirt roads are contraindicated.
The leader of the Nokian Hakka H test combined all the advantages: excellent in all respects and at the same time economical tires of Russian (!) Production, a favorable price / quality ratio of 2.5.
This year they performed much more successfully than in the past: they took revenge on Toyo, ahead of their fellow countrymen in the overall standings by more than 10 points! Apparently, the manufacturer worked on the composition of the mixture in order to improve the grip on wet roads. At high speed they carry the Priora smoothly, clearly respond to taxiing. Sophisticated pretzels on dry roads are successful, but slightly slower than those of their closest competitors. Performing a rearrangement without surprises and surprises is a demolition that smoothly turns into a drift. The steering angles are a bit too big. Surprisingly, on wet surfaces, the speed with a sharp change of strip remains the same as on dry. The behavior of the machine becomes even sharper, and the steering angles of the steering wheel return to normal. Brakes on dry roads are above average, and on wet roads are among the top three. They roll quietly, but not perfectly smoothly - seams and joints soften, but the terrain is monitored. Fuel consumption is increased at any speed - apparently because the tires are the heaviest in the test. The primer is acceptable to a limited extent.
With the “youth” two experienced “old-hearty” competitors quite successfully compete - ContiPremiumContact2 from the first five and the representative of the second line “Toyo Proxes CF-1”. Both models have been on the market for more than five years, but thanks to a timely upgrade, they still have enough gunpowder to stay on top.
This model is not the first time in our tests, occupying a leading position. They hold the road well at high speed, react without delay to steering actions. Successfully performing extreme maneuvers at high speed is not easy. The grip properties of rubber on a dry road are very high, and the sidewalls are malleable, which is why there are significant drags on the front axle tires that do not allow you to clearly define the desired trajectory without training. Otherwise, the car either slides the front wheels or scares the driver with a shooting skid. On wet surfaces, the balance of grip and water retraction is ideal for sharp maneuvers. Helps heavily weighted steering wheel with good information content. Therefore, the successful speed of a sharp change of lane is almost a kilometer higher than on a dry road. The best in braking qualities. The brake dry land is almost a meter shorter than the nearest opponent in this exercise. On wet pavement, they are also the best, along with Nokian. They roll quietly, but not perfectly smoothly - they make Priora shiver at the road joints and seams. Fuel consumption is increased, exactly the same as that of "Bridge Stone." They do not like the primer.
Slowly but surely improving their results in our tests, these tires finally got to the first place. They are not the best in all exercises, but there are practically no comments on them. They excellently hold the road at any speed, preventing the car from deviating from a given direction, and at the same time, they sensitively, confidently and predictably respond and respond to any control actions. They are not afraid of extreme maneuvers on both dry and wet asphalt. At the same time, they are ready for high speed and show approximate, stable behavior. They brake well on a dry road (better, only "Conti"). On wet - along with "Conti" show the best test result. They are as comfortable as Michelin rolls softly and quietly. Surprisingly, with high adhesion properties on a wet coating, gasoline is consumed quite sparingly. Finnish chemists managed to find the right additives for the rubber compound, reconciling long-standing tire antagonists - low rolling resistance and reliable wet grip. They do not like the primer.
Skate ContiPremiumContact2 - a short braking distance on dry and wet surfaces. And the increased rolling resistance is more likely to pay for it. The overall level of tires is high, although the price / quality ratio of 2.9 is a bit big for the model far from new.
"Toyo Proxes CF-1" does not set records - takes its even character. And a very attractive price / quality ratio - 2.3.

Two major players are represented in the domestic sector - Sibur and Nizhnekamsk Tire Plant. The first so far puts on the most successful of the latest developments - Cordiant Comfort. For many years, Nizhnekamsk residents focused on the VAZ conveyor, but now they are also looking at the secondary market - an equally fertile field. And they rolled out the new Kama Euro-129 with a modern asymmetric tread pattern aimed at a competitor from Siburov. Both rivals are approximately equal and do not fight for supremacy in individual indicators, but for equalization of characteristics. Quite decent tires with a price / quality ratio of 1.8.
