TUV inspectors wrapped up 5.4% of cars after the first maintenance. For comparison, the performance of more successful SUVs: Toyota RAV4 in 9th position, Nissan X-Trail in 33rd, KIA Sorento in 52nd. Five-year-old Santa Fe slipped to 101st place, 13.9% of cars did not pass the technical exam.

Overall rating

A typical SUV, Santa Fe is not designed to conquer virgin lands. It is devoid of rigid locking of the center differential and traction control, the viscous coupling can only redistribute the moment between the axles. However, the crossover copes with the broken lane and confidently rushes along the winter highway, seized with ice. Not bad "Korean" and in the role of a tractor. Its all-wheel drive version is capable of towing a trailer weighing up to 2.3 tons, and the version with front-wheel drive - up to 1.9 tons. The interior design is somewhat old-fashioned. However, the interior pleases with spaciousness, quality performance and thoughtful ergonomics. The trunk is large enough (470 liters). If you fold the back sofa, up to the line of glasses it will fit 875 liters. The list of safety features includes ABS and four airbags. The system of dynamic control of directional stability and curtains began to be installed only on second-generation cars.

Ride quality

The energy-intensive and soft suspension of the car evens out serious potholes. The car is stable on the high-speed line, however, in corners and during sharp changes, rolls are too big. And one more nuance: the illusion of superiority of all-wheel drive on slippery surfaces is fraught with the fact that the car can go into a sharp, difficult to control drift, so it is better not to scamper on turns. T.. UV experts prefer modifications with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine (150 hp). It has a large power reserve, and thanks to two balancing shafts it works surprisingly smoothly and smoothly. A two-liter turbodiesel (113 hp) is economical, pulls well at low speeds, but does not provide acceptable dynamics on the highway. The most complete character of Santa Fe is revealed with a 2.7 V6 gasoline engine (173 hp) in combination with an automatic transmission.
