The main exhibition was located in the modern pavilion 8A, built specifically for the 11th International Economic Forum. There you could get acquainted with modern models Toyota, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Renault, GM, Lexus, Isuzu, Infitity, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai … Of course, there were many Chinese automakers. There were very few major premieres at the exhibition. The largest is the Land Cruiser 200, the flagship Toyota off-road lineup. With an ambiguous appearance, a car can become the real King of roads and off-road, with whom he is called in advertising brochures. To do this, there is everything you need: a roomy body, powerful power units (gasoline and diesel V8 with a volume of 4.7 and 4.5 liters with 5- and 6-speed automatic transmissions, 284 and 232 hp), all-wheel drive and a car control system when driving at low speed Crawl Control. This combines the highest level of comfort and the legendary "Toyota" reliability. In the neighborhood, at the booth of a sister Lexus, the flagship Lexus LS600hL model was presented for the first time in Russia. This is the third Lexus with a hybrid drive - after the RX400h and GS450h. "Sixty" is a representative of the premium class, in which the comfort of movement is raised to a new height due to the extremely low noise of the hybrid drive.

For the first time this year, Infiniti participated in the exhibition - together with Nissan, but at different stands. Nissan showed eight models, as well as the Nissan Maxim concept, first demonstrated at the Frankfurt Motor Show recently, at the end of September. The car actually combines "courageous appearance, attractive power, workmanship, luxury and comfort." The power of the 5.6-liter V8 reached 325 hp. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive system has its own name All-Mode 4WD. The large all-wheel drive accelerates to 100 km / h in 7.8 seconds. The cost of the car is 2 489 000 rubles.

Honda showed the concept of Small Hybrid Sport, a formula car, the new Civic Type-R, a super-sports bike RC212V, and Honda Accord, a modified tuning studio Mugen.

Of course, there were curious tuning premieres, but it is better to talk about them separately. And the biggest surprise of the St. Petersburg exhibition was for us the exposition of the local club Retro Union, which can be quickly classified as oldtimer. And we could not ignore this exposition - despite its not too good location.

The pavilion in which the club cars stood was similar to Aladdin’s cave - gloomy, dark, nevertheless, it hid real treasures. Last year it was the magnificent majestic Cadillac of the 50-60s, this year - the "Americans" of different brands of the era of rock and roll, the beginning of the Cold War and, of course, Detroit Baroque. And all this splendor framed by cult machines of the late period.

At the entrance, visitors were greeted by legendary sports cars. Dark blue modified Ford Mustang 5.0 with white stripes on the body of the fourth generation - the last restyling of 1987. The third generation Chevy Camaro IROC-Z cabriolet, standing aside, viciously glanced at its eternal rival. Next to the famous G-em model, there were no less grand Ford cars. This is a snow-white Mustang of the first generation of early years of production with contrasting red stripes, a chic dark gray executive sedan of the Lincoln Town Car of the 80s and a personal seventh-generation Thunderbird coupe (the so-called Torino Bird), produced only from 1977 to 1979.

The central place was occupied by giants of the time of Elvis Presley. Each model is unique in its own way. The Chevy El Camino's blue and white passenger pickup and Chevy Impala's matchless bright red coupe were born in 1960. These are related models created on the same platform. El Camino belongs to the first generation, and it lasted only two years (1959-1960). In the last year of production, only 14, 163 pickups were sold. He later revived in 1964.

The 1958 Chevrolet Delray Emerald Sedan is very interesting. The car was on the assembly line from 1954-1957. In fact, this is the Chevy 210 series (which was replaced by the Biscayne family in 1957) with an expanded set of options. In the last, 1958 model year, the car received an "independent status" and took the place of the previous 150th series. Now this huge chrome sparkling creation of overseas designers seems delightful, but then it was cheap. The same Bel Air, Biscayne and Impala were more expensive and luxurious. The real decoration of the Retro Union booth is Buick Invicta 1958 sedans, 1959 De Soto sedans and the stunning Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner with a convertible coupe body (1957-1959). The main feature of Ford's handsome man is a complex mechanism that folds a hard roof into a huge trunk. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see it in action …

At a distance, the Hummer H1 and Chevy K5 Blazer Custom Deluxe SUVs were shown, as well as the Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson tuning pickup. On the other hand, a couple of custom-style trikes.
