In Soviet times, snowmobiles were classified as consumer goods - consumer goods, they were forcibly developed at defense enterprises. Including at the Rybinsk Motors airline: here in 1973 the first Buran snowmobile left the assembly line. This name in the northern regions of the country has become a household name. Surely, for a long time, snowmobiles of other brands were not made at all in the country, while imported snowmobiles did not arrive, and local residents did not even suspect anything else existed.
The attitude to snowmobiles at a large defense enterprise as to products of third-rate importance changed only in 2005, when the production of snowmobiles was allocated as an independent factory.
